Just did a post it’s called What Mother Made - mother & kids boutique

Oh my, have some of us been here so long that we are seeing a second generation of baby shops opening - this clearly means the first generation of kids in "Nappy Valley" have grown and many parents moved to pastures new and there's a new influx of young families! 😉

The small St Christopher's charity shop is closing down.   they will be moving into the vacant jo Jo unit sometime in april

Strangely felt the need to refurbish even though it was literally set up to sell children's items!

Wonder how much that cost

They have considerably upped their prices since the refurb, in the larger shop at least  (though to reflect generally better quality clothes etc being sold, to be fair) so they can probably afford it.

It's "vintage" now, not "charity shop." 🤣

Annoying for people like me who have always frequented charity shops and found bargains, and now there are loads of people shopping there, and very few real bargains!

I'm assuming it's the same trend for the children's shop as for adult charity shops.

    • Hi,  Any parents send their kids to Jessop Primary? Or anyone had any experience of it, positive or negative? Thanks, Poppy
    • We're doing a house swap with friends in Sydney (Seaforth, Northern Beaches area) for 3 months, just about to book flights for the start of April. The last time we went was about 20 years ago so we would love some more recent tips on things to do /see (other than the obvious touristy stuff)  The friends we're swapping with will be giving us loads of tips anyway but it's always good to get other people's suggestions. We're artists/ designers so would be interested in suggestions of any lesser known contemporary art galleries or events etc. We're planning to paint whilst there. Wondering if art supplies are likely to be more expensive here or there? What about getting a cheap phone for a local sim card - any idea if it's better to get the cheapest phone we can here or in Sydney? Also any suggestions of off the beaten track places to visit would be great. We'll have access to a car and are up for long distance travel by road too. All tips / suggestions welcome, thanks.
    • Is anyone getting rid of a 3 drawer trofast?  Thanks.
