JoJo is turning into, a…. Charity shop! I asked in there this morning.

If JoJo can't afford the increasing rent there (which was one of the reasons a staff member gave when I asked why they were closing), it's odd that a charity shop could - not doubting what you've been told, but it just doesn't make sense!

The long empty site at the top of Lordship Lane by the Library is now a cute little bar and restaurant -  Victus and Bibo.  We had a few beers there on Saturday night and it was very welcoming.

I was sure I had replied to this, but I must have dreamed it!

I googled Victus and Bibo and found a reference to them on this  forum from years ago 😮

Not noticed this when passed today - so used to it being  closed. When the original restaurant (Moulin) closed down, the new owners said they were going to have a new restaurant after modernising the premises. This was around 10 years ago!.

Garlic & Chilli (Chilli & Garlic?) on Zenoria St. Small takeaway. Never heard of them before. Little bit hidden though on Zenoria, wish them well.

Is it open now then? Still shows as coming soon on their website and no reviews yet.

Victus and Bobo had a hand written sign on the door advertising Two pints and a pack of crisps for £10. Seems v good value!

On north cross road yesterday I saw some blokes wheeling F45 branded exercise bikes into the newly refurbished shop that used to be a mini cab office.

Anyone know what the V7 local is turning into? Saw some guys painting it a teal colour last night which made me think it’s probably turning into another Truepennys haha - hopefully something more interesting

Just did a post it’s called What Mother Made - mother & kids boutique

    • Well, what a huge surprise! So, while the council digs up local footpaths to plant trees and 'green' the roads, it simultaneously offers up our parkland to private hire for a further extended period of annual damage.  It is hard to see from the map, but it looks as though the footpath that was formerly available to walk along the length of the event site of old will now also be partially used up by the new footprint, it looks like it will be partly roped off? I love how the final council report advise that 'while locals will be unable to use this nicer part of the park for a month ( and actually much of summer as it all gets churned up and has to be reseeded) that this is fine as they can just use the Common instead.    It feels wrong that the nicer part of the park is given over for festival use. I do not buy that, as has been stated, the Common is just not big enough for the Gala event.
    • No sympathy, collect rain water, reuse grey water from the house.  Plant drought gardens.  Have yellow grass in the summer, it will turn green again,.  Not sure why on earth we have this term hard working families - suggests that everyone else is lazy.  Kids cost money and that can continue until they are well into adulthood!  You make your own choices, and it is right that if you use more water you pay more.  I expect most of us have cut our water usage since going onto a meter.
    • Lheda has now been coming for over a year and has been great. She also knows which cleaning products are best to use and recommends products that we need - which have made a big difference.
    • So following the box ticking and predictable ignoring of the 'consultation' and 'stakeholder meetings' the foregone conclusion has been reached, and the journey towards a two weekend festival, with ever increasing numbers and expanding boundaries, begins... --------------------------------------------------------- Re: GALA Music Festival – event application ref: SWKEVE000820 - NOTICE OF DECISION regarding event consultation We write to inform you that the event application submitted by Assembled GALA Ltd to hold GALA Music Festival and On the Rye Festival in Peckham Rye Park on the 23 - 26 May 2025 has been approved.
