35th birthday week.

27 August to 2 September

35% discount on everything.

Schools and book clubs will receive the 35% discount, instead of the normal 20% discount, for orders placed in this week that are paid for later.

We have been in East Dulwich for the past thirty-five years under the same ownership. We have a reasonable selection of over 22,000 books in stock and a quite good children?s bookroom.

This was the year I lived to die another day. In celebration and after many, many, requests, we will be playing a small part of my record collection. The featured artist will be Bing Crosby.

This year also sees the return of the Chener Books birthday competition

The prizes are copies of the 1799 East Dulwich map. This is printed on A3 250gsm acid-free archive paper by a commercial printer. No ink-jet rubbish. Please note that copies of the map are not for sale.

To win a free copy of the map come to the bookshop and answer this question: ?Where was the northern boundary of the original East Dulwich Parish??

So I've dug out the url to have another try, this time without embedding:  https://x.com/guyshrubsole/status/1858490339356533018 .  Seems ok.   in reply to my own "Where did you get this from?" response to your post at https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/353788-is-rachel-reeves-becoming-the-new-liz-truss/?do=findComment&comment=1688310, in which you again spoke of the government's "doubling the national debt". You seem not to understand the meaning of "national debt".  Might you have been copying someone else's usage? I'm sorry to hear of Starmer's decimation.
    • It came from the 9bn spent on the public above inflation pay award, hence doubling it. Watch the BBC interview of Starmer and Kuenssberg, where Starmer gets absolutely decimated.
