Cancerian
Just up from the co-op, going towards Goose Green, a wagtail bird was flitting about on the pavement. It wasn’t worried about people walking along and then another one joined it and both flew over to a cake shop pecking at crumbs. Never seen one before and was nice to observe. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/356168-wagtails-on-lordship-lane/ Share on other sites
malumbu
They like the warmth of roads and pavements, they are quite common on car parks and school playgrounds. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/356168-wagtails-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-1693121 Share on other sites
Sue
My partner told me the other day that he had seen some in Southwark Park, and he had never seen any there before. I've only ever seen them near water, eg by the stream on the walk between Merton and Carshalton. Hoping I might get some in the garden now, it would make a nice change from sparrows, great tits and the robin, lovely as they are 😀 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/356168-wagtails-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-1693170 Share on other sites

pearl1
They're very common in Deptford. We seem them all the time... It's interesting how bird populations are so different in such close areas. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/356168-wagtails-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-1693272 Share on other sites
