Clockhouse today

Been there a few times but today was catastrophic! We went there for a lunch time natter (4 women) the days special still had 'Tuesday' written on the board! Poor start, and the menu was short of.....duck,chicken Kiev, goats cheese tarts, scotch eggs and something else I can't remember. If it were sold out I could understand but the reason given was...it was being prepped freshly? The time was 1.10 pm. Surely prep is done in the mornings ready for lunchtime trade? When I questioned this the bar man said " well you do want fresh food don't you, that's why we prepare it all fresh each day" duh!!! They could have prepped anyway as we then waited 45 mins for 2 burgers, chicken salad and a risotto. There was 2 other people in the whole place. Very poor today and doubt if I'll go again in a hurry.

Hate to be doom and gloom but it's not the cheapest eatery in east dulwich either!

If I recall correctly, she said that it was going to have "Scandinavian influences", or words to that effect.

    • I’d also like to reiterate the above. I called Paul after seeing the recommendation here. He came the next day. Found a fix for a problem with the wiring for my fridge/freezer. He was quick to respond, totally constructive and very reasonably priced. Paul will now be my go to electrician and I’d be happy to recommend him. Kate (Paul Edgley 07802 627967)
    • Please get in touch, I have your belongings.
    • We left behind a Brickhouse fabric tote bag (white, black handles) with a sketchbook and pastels/markers/ brushes at Perks & White at Herne Hill station yesterday at about 8.45am. Sadly it has not been handed in to the Cafe or station staff. The drawings and sketches are a collection we have built over a long period so of huge sentimental value. If anyone comes across this would be grateful if they could let me me know. A photo of the sketchbook and bag behind attached (just before I realised I had left it behind) Many thanks!
    • I was under the impression that a local councillor lives in that street. Presumably then, the council are already aware.
