EXPERIENCED HISTORY TUTOR AVAILABLE FOR GCSE, A-LEVEL and IB - Some slots still available

Recommended Posts

I'm a History teacher with over 25 years experience of teaching in London schools, including serving as:
6th Form Head; Head of History; manager of Outreach/1:1 Learning services; 1:1 Tutor specialising in supporting students with SEN and school based anxiety; Private History Tuition (GCSE, A-Level and IB). I am available to tutor at all levels and currently have slots available throughout the academic year.

Working with you and your child I would design a programme of learning based around targeting specific areas of need. This approach enables us to focus on the young person's needs and interests, and avoids the risk of replicating learning or reinventing the wheel.

I'm happy to have a chat about your specific needs, please contact me via PM for details. I look forward to hearing from you.

Online lessons preferred.

Full DBS.

Here's what former clients say about the service I provide:

"I recommend Alex very highly. He is a fantastic teacher. He started working with my son at Easter just before GCSEs when it looked like he was going to struggle to get the grade he needed to study history for A level. Alex helped give him the focus to turn everything around and to our delight our son walked away with an 8 for that GCSE and then an A at A-level. Couldn’t be happier!"

“Alex tutored my daughter in the final stages of her history GCSE prep. Having not managed to get through all the syllabus content at school she was super stressed, lacking confidence and desperately in need of some exam and question practice and guidance. In only 6 or 7 sessions Alex turned things around for her and she went into the exams feeling confident, capable and properly equipped. She really enjoyed her sessions with Alex who mostly left it to her to decide how she wanted them structured and what she wanted to focus on, while also making sure she had everything covered off. He set her work to do between sessions and gave her feedback which she found invaluable. He was a wonderfully calming influence in those crucial last weeks and a pleasure to have around. He was also very flexible and easy to communicate with. I would recommend Alex without hesitation (and not only because in the final exam she came out with an A*).”

“Alex worked with my daughter, as she was struggling in A-Level History. Not only did he bring it to life for her but he bought in more background and insight and cemented her knowledge well. Her confidence grew and her grades and love of history increased and she got the grades she needed. Every session resulted in a wonderful batch of notes that could be used later too. I have no issues with recommending Alex for A level extra tutoring.”

“Alex has been of great help with my daughter’s A level history revision. Before each lesson they would decide which topic they would revise next time. Alex has a wealth of knowledge which allowed them to go into great depth. He also has a good way with teenagers bringing out the best in even the most reluctant ones. He is very positive and I would have no problem recommending him to anyone wanting to improve their child’s chances of achieving a higher grade at their history examination.”

“Alex helped our son with his A Level History course work. He has very good curriculum knowledge and was able to help with, and complement, the work our son had done at school. We would highly recommend him.”

"Could not be happier, really big thank you Alex. Those sessions really helped, I can't thank you enough."

"A big thank you from me and my daughter. She said the tutoring in concepts, themes and links really helped as she used to be too fixated on facts only before."

"Thanks so much for our sessions, I've definitely felt more confident"

"I can't thank you enough for your support in the months prior to my exams and I don't know where I would currently be without your mind. I can confidently say I lucked out with my tutor. Thank you so much!"

    • I think I dropped my house keys somewhere between Hindmans Rd and Northcross rd market or Lordship Lane.  1 Chubb deadlock key , 1 'Ingersoll' type key and a Yale key with a purple metal keyfob.  Please pm me if you find it.  Many thanks.
    • Being nice to Trump, constantly and obsequiously, in now way keeps you inside with him honesty far betteR and there isnt going to be any meaningful trade deal with USA anyway because it conflicts with other interests.     bugs the shite out of me listening to people complain about uk being rude about Trump when the things the uk continues to say about Europe and its leaders is unhinged
    • Hello, is anyone selling any dining chairs/accent chairs? Thank you.
    • Many people have been dismissive of Trump in the recent past, including his VP. Besides, Mandelson and Trump have much in common. They are both shallow, vulgar and vain. They both fetishise wealth and power, irrespective of who holds it or how it was accumulated. They were both close friends and associates of the late Jeffrey Epstein and have moved in the same circles, as Ghislaine Maxwell’s address book allegedly confirms. Recognising another who is utterly transactional and lacking in a moral compass, there’s every chance of “Petie” fitting right in Mar-a-Largo.
