Hello,

I'm looking for some advice please.

I have an old TV, which I have tried to rehome, but no-one seems to want it, fair, as it's not a smart tv. But I'm now looking at how to dispose of it?

I've contacted a charity to collect but they haven't got back to me. It's too big for the WEE recycling bins and I don't have a car to get to the tip with it. Southwark want £35 to collect it, which seems very extreme.

Does anyone have another suggestion that I haven't thought of please?

Many Thanks, Natalie

I've got one to get rid of, its digital but not smart so hoped that someone would like it for a PlayStation.  I assume you tried to give it away through this site.

Otherwise it will have to be disposed of properly, perhaps a neighbour is going to a tip, where there will be a facility there.  I think most boroughs you don't have to pay if you bring it over.  If you have a street WhatsApp that may help

Hello malumbu,

I have tried to get rid of it through this site too. I thought the same that it might be ok for a kids room, to watch dvd's or something. But apparently not.

I also listed it on the facebook group of the estate I live on. I don't have to pay if I take it to the tip myself no. But I cant physically get it there on buses and trains. I'm fairly fit, but its just not feasible.

I'm not sure if there is a whatsapp group for my street, or how I'd even go about finding one. Thanks though!

The ‘Our Bike’ community cargo bike might be an option, especially if you have some other shopping to do nearby on the Old Kent Rd. You can hire the bike by the hour, and there are two available in East Dulwich. https://ourbike.co.uk/

If you still aren't able to find a new owner by the weekend, I will take to the recycling centre for you.  I have to go past it either Saturday or Sunday, so would happily detour.
