Christ. Google it if you're that interested. They are a real family and this isn't a Reddit discussion on a true crime documentary. Jellybeanz
Azalea is very well meaning and has offered support throughout since the fundraiser was set up for the family, so please don't be too harsh. We are all obviously keen to ensure the family are protected from debate but this is simply people conversing and I am positive Azalea meant nothing disrespectful by her post; I think simply in disbelief that such a tragedy could happen after the dog in question seems to have attacked a school child a month prior. Anyway as you say, not for discussion here really. Can't comprehend how the family must feel. Hopefully our gesture of fundraiser will enable them to give something to his children and/or do something charitable in his name, which is a strong belief in Islam/ Muslim faith... Extraordinary Expand Isn't it up to admin what is appropriate to discuss on here? Of course it's not akin to casually asking about an empty shop space. It is a terrible incident which is clearly of local interest, and the fact that people are sympathetic is clearly demonstrated by the response to Jellybeanz' kind gesture. Where have you seen anything suggesting anyone is treating it like a discussion on a true crime documentary? Why is it inappropriate to be asking about the court case? Expand If you don't innately know from a human perspective why it's not tasteful to ask 'what's the latest on the court case??' then I can't really explain it I guess. I suspect the family are finding the concept of the circumstances being hashed out in court and the papers quite distressing so although I'm sure they are touched by the support and outpouring of affection for Akif I don't think they want the private details to be a 'matter of local interest.' If people are desperate to keep up to date with the court case they can google it. It doesn't need to be discussed on a local forum. Just a bit of basic decorum and sensitivity really. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/354959-sad-news-about-akif-from-dulwich-dry-cleaners/page/2/#findComment-1694268 Share on other sites

Expand Perhaps you know more than I do then. ETA: I expect everyone who read your post has googled the case now. I did. I don't normally read the local papers. And if the details of the court case are in the public domain, and will be in the papers when the case actually comes to be heard, it is going to be rather hard to keep them "private", I would have thought. Obviously I have every sympathy for the family, regardless of the circumstances. You raise an interesting point, and I'd be interested to know what others (and admin's) views are on this.
