Light-filled double room in shared house near lordship lane - available from January 16th!

We are looking for an fourth housemate to join our lovely home as our current one is sadly returning to Australia. The room is on the first floor of our airy and art-filled four bedroom house, and shares a nice bathroom (with bath) with the other two bedrooms on the floor. Comes partially furnished with a king size bed (no mattress), XL chest of drawers and clothing rail. It gets lovely morning light and the house is on a super-peaceful road so its very quiet.

The house has:

  • Garden with deck and outdoor seating, green fingered applicants very welcome to make their mark on it! Bike storage in shed.
  • Well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, nice coffee machine, big double door fridge/freezer.
  • Heated drying rack.
  • Smart TV.

We’re looking for someone ideally queer (to keep our current vibe going), 28-30+, who is working full-time and enjoys a mix of staying in and being out and about. We’re all in creative industries and run on different schedules, so the house is a mixture of being social and taking our own space, but we’d love someone who isn’t adverse to the occasional martini and gossip session. We’re not looking for anyone who is WFH full time.

830 p/m including bills (+ deposit upfront) , a bi-weekly cleaner and household essentials (loo paper, washing tabs, dishwasher tabs, olive oil etc etc).

Please get in touch if this sounds like you!

Hi Alice,

Hope you are doing good. Is this room still available? Would love to chat about it if it is.

I am a 30 year old guy working as Creative Director and Strategist at an agency in Whitechapel. I like running, music and reading.

Let me know if it’s still available, would be great to chat if so.

Thanks a lot.

Marc

    • I would have thought the cost of erecting X meters of metal barriers would be the same irrespective of location, plus given the issues with access now due to the "bunds", it would also be easier given the ample direct access the common provides? The reason I've heard from the organisers is that their footprint has been tailor made for that part of the park, so it's not possible to fit it anywhere else. Which is a ridiculous argument given that  they've already altered / extended it due to the space they've 'lost' from the "bunds". The reason I've heard from FOPR and others is that as the common is public land (or similar) it requires permission from the Home Secretary (or similar) due to ancient grazing rights or something. Oddly it doesn't seem to have affected the circus, the steam fair, the dog show etc etc etc Yes, the wide path where Parkrun starts & finishes will become a controlled crossing during the build, and completely closed off during the festival. Also, when I asked about the reason for the extended footprint onto the sports pitch, they said it was to replace lost space where the bunds are, which they used to store equipment. However, they were unable to explain where this storage area now was on the new plan... And when asked about the loss of the sports pitch due to the extension & access road, they said the council had assured them there were no matches booked for that period. But what about the kids, families, who play on them? No answer...
    • I think one of the organiser's marketing lines for the event describes the festival as 'nestled' in the park- clearly having the trees and park as a backdrop is viewed as a major selling point.
    • It may be good to check the meter is not malfunctioning; this can happen. Equally there may be a slow leak. If TW were sure metering would reduce your bills- I think there is some kind of comparison transition period, where they get a sense of how much water you actually use- then I'd think it is worth checking.
    • I am looking for somebody that can attach curtain tape to the top. It’s the part that the hooks go into. I need it stitched on willing to pay if anybody can do it please message me thank you.
