  • Joe changed the title to Police presence in Crystal Palace road

Apparently someone in Wisconsin typed something very slightly rude online, and someone in East Dulwich accidentally read it, meaning that the entire family and all their friends face crucifixion.

Apparently the police took a call from a certain C Little.  I understand that it was difficult to hear the exact name as there was a lot of clucking in the background.  Various farm animals are helping with enquiries, worryingly a few foxes have been seen on the prowl so this may not end well.  I say police protection for C Little, now.

Eagles and seagulls have also been seen on large numbers in the area.  I'd keep away as it could be carnage. Certainly watch your ice cream cornets and perhaps wear ear plugs.

Not sure if this is anything to do with the local authority or the Labour government, no doubt someone will find a link.

Tesco's must be GTP!

In the past I've asked cops to turn of their engines.  Even telling them that they could be prosecuted, both by the local authority and the police had no influence.

I bet that went down well........

Yes, they thanked me for pointing out the errors of their ways and agreed never to do it again.  Or maybe not.  There was also two scenes when I asked drivers to turn their engines off when sitting idling by Peckham Rye.  I wont recount the tale but they did not appreciate my request.  I've long since given up.  My experience was similar to Nigel Havers, "go forth and multiply".

I also used to fantasise about putting a potato in the exhaust.  Gone are the days when you could kill the occupants through carbon monoxide poisoning as the levels are relatively low.  Not oxides of nitrogen though.

Good grief.

Surely you have fantasised about teaching people a lesson.

The potato in the exhaust is a bit of an urban myth, but here is what may happen https://carfromjapan.com/article/car-maintenance/a-potato-is-stuffed-in-a-car-exhaust-pipe/

So does anybody know why all these police were there, apart from doing their shopping at Tesco  and keeping warm with their car engines running (to be fair, you can hardly blame them for that, this weather)?

Are they still there? How many of them are/were there?

Has nobody asked them what they are doing there, rather than asking on here?!

    • Sue, Southbank in London  - you must know this and I don’t need to spell it out to you - must be having brain fog…. Libra I believe piggy backs off Three. if you go on ID website, you can see numerous people complaint about service anyway it is a dead subject now as I am leaving them having been with them for over 7 years
    • You said cycling was lovely because private schools are off. They’re not. You’re wrong. You are clearly trying to lean in to that ludicrous claim that private schools are the sole reason for traffic issues in the area.  Do some fact checking…..
    • I don't understand why you need to challenge what I am reporting, what I have witnessed with my own eyes, not what I have seen on line, or what I perceive to support your entrenched views.  I have cycled most days of this week.  The roads are quieter.  I expect that Dulwich College, Dulwich Prep, and Rosemead are off.  Have a cycle in the area tomorrow during school drop off times and then give me your views.  I've not cycled on Townley so can't can't comment on  JAGS and Alleyn's.  The Village was quiet too. Let's face it you have nothing substantial to say.  From my perspective you resort to snide comments.
    • Actually that's interesting. I have had the occasional call cut off, but I thought I must be leaning on something on my phone by mistake. It never occurred to me it was anything to do with iD! But I've never had problems connecting in the first place, anywhere in London (or anywhere else). Maybe I've just been lucky. The only problem I've ever had with iD/3 was quite a long time ago when the whole of the network suddenly went down for a while. I can't remember how long for. Where is Southbank way? Is that where you live, or do you mean you were writing that post while near the Southbank? What network do Libra piggyback on?
