I wasn't referring to you either.

I liked your previous name, kind of cool & mysterious!

What made you come back through the wardrobe?!

And of course JL yours is a fine moniker, one we've all come to know and love over the years.

But if you want to get off the reggae tip and embrace hip-hop but STILL with a recognisable 'brand' might I suggest L.A.J. Hush?

L.A.J. (Lovin' Always [the] Jack) Hush {Quiet FOOL} - R 'n' R alcoholic drink, and an aggressively A Team based request for silence. While you meditate. Perhaps. Your call.

The way I see it:

If somebody wants to change their username due to threatening messages/troll abuse etc.,that's fine.

But it might be nice if they informed regular posters, who they know are ok, of the change (maybe by PM?)

Just a thought.

Personally, I don't plan to change mine, as I like being me!

but there are so many regular posters AQ, how would anyone remember all of them in order to send a PM?

way I see it, regulars can usually work out pretty sharpish who the not-so "newbies" are. people's posting styles and familiarity with the forum/other posters/local places or events are fairly obvious. most name-changers don't deliberately try to come across as new posters, do they?

(I mean, what sort of idiot puts numbers after their name to help them remember their login name anyway?) :))

what annoys me most about name changers is the "sport" it creates for some forumites who take great delight in figuring out who the "new" person could possibly be and then brag to others (who don't really tend to care) who they are without sharing the information as if it makes them higher up on the social standing of the forum or as if they know a great secret or something. Like seriously!

I just don't play the game :-)

I've never changed my name on this forum but on other social platforms I am known to have a large wardrobe of dresses to choose from depending on my mood.

Choosing the right name can be difficult especially when others adapt your name to however it suits them. For example, under this name I am not particularly fond of being called Kal or Kalam but that's what others choose to identify me as and who am I to argue as it is part of the name I have chosen after all and if I really objected to it I would either say (here does not count) or change it to something I am happy with.

Other times, in other places, I may just not feel like wearing dress X but feel like wearing dress D and so use that one instead.

I have never hidden who I was/am as I don't have anything to hide and really don't see the point in becoming even more anonymous than current online activities allow you to be, although saying that it can be an interesting experiment to see how other regular users respond to what would normally be a new user...

In that case, forget everyone else and just send one to me!
