I had my car ransacked on Wednesday night, I assumed I’d left it unlocked. It was unlocked again this morning though and I definitely locked it last night.

The car was outside my front door and the keys near the door inside so I assume this is a relay theft  issue with someone using a remote key reader. I would advise keeping keys away from the front door. I have reported to police.

Police won’t be interested as they are to busy investigating hurtful comments people have written on internet and demos which seem to be happening every weekend, well done for reporting tho and giving us the heads up to be careful 👍

I think you will find they are investigating potentially illegal comments, which may or may not be "hurtful" .

And to the best of my knowledge, most of  the demos which "seem to be happening every weekend" are attended by people who do not want to just stand by and watch whilst thousands of innocent people just like you - except they happen to live elsewhere - are being illegally slaughtered.

Police are too busy investigating "Non-crime hate speech" such as between kids in school.

You think there's no possible link between "non-crime hate speech" between kids in school and one school kid later stabbing another school kid, then?

Nobody would know because no force is collecting any statistics to see if actioning NCHS is linked to reductions in actual hate acts. The only basis for this is a paper written 70 years ago which hypothesised such a link. Face validity, rather than statistics, seems the basis for this.

I understand the possible illegal comments but some of these don’t justify the time and effort  that the police putting into these especially when I hear the resources are not there to investigate phone theft and muggings in the area that must be traumatizing for thoses involved, also I should of clarified i was saying all demos including far right and left

Landells Road comes under the Dulwich Hill SNT, At their last meeting at Christ Church, car thefts were one to the statistics discussed. The problem is that everyone assumes that the police are useless, but so much crime goes unreported it sways the statistics and the wrong impression is given that the area has a low crime rate. It is known that certain roads are targeted for different reasons theft from cars, theft of cars, burglary etc Information given gets built up - Police can identify times of day, type pf vehicle etc and I have known them to 'stake out' in unmarked vehicles of an area which had an increase of incidents/criminal activity. There should be a cuppa with a coppa meeting at Christ Church on 25th November at 11 am. Dulwich Hill SNT will post details on EDF. There is also the quarterly evening  meeting in the first week of December . I will post date on here.

Absolutely! If the "Non-crime hate speech" was to be handled by the PCSO's, that would free up the "real police" to handle serious crime such as muggings, theft, drugs, rape, violence etc ,etc, etc, etc. The "real police" shouldn't was precious time having a cuppa with the concerned law-abiding citizens. They should be out there fighting real crime.

How exactly would “the real police” go about solving this crime? Talk me through the process. Are “the real police” uniformed? Or are only plainclothes detectives real enough? What rank of police would be real enough to investigate? Should they be armed? What would satisfy you?

All jokes aside there is young kids constantly getting mugged in our area, there is masked bike riders going around armed with knife’s, all I’m saying is police resources could be better used, police wont use there resources to respond to car theft but will happily knock on someone’s door for hurtful comments on the internet which should have us all thinking 🤔

I recommend you stick to GB News following that last comment.  Hate crime is still a crime.  We all think that we know best.

maybe u should speak to some of the kids parents who are constantly mugged who can’t get a police officer to investigate and tell them to stick to gb news, such a childish righteousness comment for your self

But this is not about Hate Crime but about Non Crime Hate Speech. Which is in the eye of the beholder. My view would be the police should be handling crime and some other body non crime. PCSOs perhaps. Or Social Workers.

Why don't you do something constructive and take your views to the police, or attend one of the local meetings with them, instead of posting on here?

Then I expect they will be able to explain to you how and why they allocate their resources, and you can discuss it with them.

Venting on here might make you feel better, but it will do absolutely nothing to change the situation you feel so strongly about.

Given the lack of statistics, I would have thought face validity was sufficient reason to speak to the kids concerned

Depending of course on what happens next. Are the kids concerned given counselling (if that is thought appropriate) or asked to attend some suitable kind of course?

Are their parents involved?

We'll ask the police at Barry Road when we're at work and school shortly.

On another thread it says that the next meeting is in the evening.

But I'm any case, there must be other ways to ask the question rather than direct to the police, eg via councillors, MP or mayor's office.

PCSO's  are NOT real police,  They DO have the power to ask the real police to arrest someone, but then again so do you and I?

Police should be redirected to stop cyclists.  Well that is what is being suggested elsewhere

Telegraph journo either put a message on social media that was hate crime, or just plain hate and that did not meet the bar for hate crime.  In any case it is a potential hate crime and I'd like my police to respond to this - up to them how and the priority.

It's been picked up by the rabid media including GB news, as yet another thing to rant about.

Edited, to add.  I've been subject to crime over the years and wouldn't like to trivialise it.  It's wrong, can be highly personal, and frustrating when the criminals are not caught.  One of my early threads here was when a bike was stolen and immediately on Gum Tree  I'm not in the hug a hoodie brigade, although we should understand why people may be attracted by criminality and society needs to address this

However I detest those who use the opportunity to plug their own agenda, as soon as the Telegraph journo was quoted that set me off
