So we've established that 'pavements which are never cleared' are in fact regularly cleared, and that the real issue is autumn / trees? Any other seasons we're unhappy with?

Yes.

The council doesn't come round and put salt on every icy patch as soon as it appears in Winter.

And as for those bad trees dropping their blossom in Spring ....

Slightly off-topic but I was more amused last week to see a resident on Herne Hill aiming his industrial leaf blower on to his garden shrub leaves, effectively bypassing the annual autumn phenomena that is in fact, a beautiful natural event. We're fortunate to have these important bio-habitats among us.

    • Yes its still there and trading and they are very helpful and know their stuff.
    • To do it properly ie to get reasonable value you should be aware that there is a huge amount or work involved - photos write up, not to mention packaging etc etc. If you have lots of clothes and you are short of time then why not become community spirited and give them to a charity shop?
    • The key thing to stress is that everything they want to do is just a PROPOSAL at the moment, and the important thing is for everyone who objects to take part in the consultation and hopefully force the council to accept what a ridiculous & unacceptable proposition it is!  The consultation ends on 10th Feb - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/Gala2025
    • What I meant was, it may not be worth your while if you have to pay someone to do it, unless they are very expensive clothes. Are you going to ask them to take the pix as well?
