Do you want to make simple changes to your English so you are easier to understand, or detailed tweaks to your accent to sound more like a native speaker? Or would you just like to change which accent you use?

I can help you achieve your own personal goal for your English pronunciation, using a mixture of teaching styles to suit you: practical exercises to use in your daily life, feedback on your speech, and theory that explains why English sounds the way it does.

I have a doctorate in linguistics, and have taught phonetics and phonology (the sciences of speech sounds) and English pronunciation for over a decade, for example on UCL's famous Summer Course in English Phonetics. I'm looking for more students close to home in Nunhead.

      Many schools now give a year's notice of  overseas trips  due to the several hundred pounds costs.  Friend's daughter went to India with her school about 15 years ago. Given 2 years to pay as  over £3000 - it was for 2 weeks, I think they stayed in a youth hostel Even primary school trips are pricey. 10 year old granddaughter going on school trip - less than 10 miles from school - cost £40. daughter has a few months to save up for this!

      Fascinating The Rest is Politics questions this week and they deal with the farmer issue as the first question. Rory Stewart has a fascinating insight into the issues here - about the high cost of land and the low returns from farming and how this is anything but a few farms being affected. Well worth a listen for those that want to hear both sides of the argument.
