Dulwichlass
Hi, I need to buy a washing machine but it needs to be relatively small and wondered could you recommend where people suggest. Only Currys allow you to enter measurements? Can anyone recommend a small one probably load at around 8KG? ed_pete
TBH, I kind of doubt that you'll find anything much less than 60cm wide as that's the UK standard to allow them to fit in the width of a normal single kitchen cabinet. The depths do vary though and there is a depth filter on the AO.com website. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351813-washing-machines/#findComment-1681787 Share on other sites
Friernlocal
If by small you mean narrow, I don't think you will find any front loading machines less wide than the standard 60cm. You could look at top loading machines. These are about 40cm wide, but you'll need access to the top to load the washing. There aren't many for sale in the UK but Appliances Direct advise some. https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/ct/laundry/washing-machines/top-loading Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351813-washing-machines/#findComment-1681942 Share on other sites
KidKruger
Yes, slim (width) washing machines in U.K. just don’t seem to exist, unless top-loaders. Possibly something to do with optimum drum size I suspect. X Ha, my grandmother had part of her finger removed as a toddler when she stuck her finger into one. Her mother picked her and the finger part up and ran to the hospital where it was reattached. It left a very visible scar. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351813-washing-machines/#findComment-1682838 Share on other sites

hahn_ka
I'd think about a compact 8kg model from Beko that’ll work well in tight spaces. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351813-washing-machines/#findComment-1686433 Share on other sites
