What end of Friern Road?  The annexe at the Friern Lower School (now Harris Boys) may have been a small school. The upper school in Goodrich Road (now Goodrich Primary) was a primary school in the 1930/40s

I was at Friern School in the 1960s and never heard of an infant school in that decade.

The little school was a one storey building and I joined in October 1948 when I was 5. I think there were two or three classes there as we met all together for assembly in the hall. Then we went up to the bigger building for a year before going on to the junior school, either Heber Road or Grove Vale.

    • Based on what I’ve seen, you can get yogurt in small glass jars from milkman now if you miss those.  Butter and bread is also available.  One of the dairies has fresh bread from a bakery in Brockley, but that bakery also do their own deliveries which I had been thinking of trying.
    • Of course you also had lot's of local diaries. My grandmother had a job as a milkmaid in Camberwell when she was young!
    • Not yet but have been seriously considering it. Good to know others are successfully using it.
    • Hi,   If anyone has a big furniture delivery, please may I recycle your packaging? I have a chest of drawers that I am sending back but their packaging was all wet so I have to find some to replace it. Ideal would be boxes 140cm x 90 x 50 but can totally cobble different items together so anything offered would be great. I am in SE21 so anywhere walkable is fab.  Thank ou
