eMac
I just tried calling Clutton Cox. They gave me a number for law central that didn't work. They said they have nothing to do with Glazer Delmar. I said that is incorrect as they have two ex partners from Glazer Delmar working there. This all just stinks! 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1679894 Share on other sites

ianr
Good. It's unlikely to be a situation they've not had to deal with before. https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/problems/solicitor-closed-down/ Edited September 18 by ianr 1 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1679932 Share on other sites
lilolil
SRA have told my neighbour that GD have moved and a new sign will be going up outside. In my opinion, this is bad practice and clients should have been notified before this. 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1680518 Share on other sites

It is not only good practice to inform clients in advance of a move/departure/closure but they presumably have not been sending regular case updates either. My advice would be to continue to complain to firm, SRA and Ombudsman. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1680520 Share on other sites

Michael G
I am one of the former clients of Glazer Delmar deeply concerned about what is the current position on a Will Probate & what has happened to the significant amount of funds held in their Client Account. Having found out that some Glazer Delamar Client Case files were being stored at the Abington Law Ltd (Law Central) Office in 52 High Street, Harlesden, London, NW10 4LS , an e-mail to sent to the Senior Partner (Joseph Glass) seeking an urgent update. Nothing heard. Now aware, through our own detective work, that the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) have, on 23 October 2024, CLOSED Abington Law citing that Joseph Glass, & the firm itself, have failed to comply with several SRA Account Regulations . SRA has appointed an Intervention Agent which is Richard Thorpe of Shakespeare Martineau LLP, PO Box 18228, Birmingham B2 2HX. If you are one of those affected by the unannounced closure of Glazer Delmar, you are advised to e-mail the appointed Intervention Agent as a matter of urgency at: [email protected] 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1685190 Share on other sites

Jenijenjen
It's possible that the testator named Glazer Delmar as one of the executors, which is quite a money spinner, and it is this that has been sold/assigned. Only guessing really. If I was in that position, I think I'd remake the will which would supersede the previous one. ShelfordRanger
We were using Glazer Delmar a year ago. They were subject to a takeover from Clutton Cox and bought out fully along with all their current clients and finances. clutton Cox were awful, took weeks to get updates and were regularly assigned different solicitors and not informed. Eventually after threatening legal action with Peter Redmond we settled a smaller portion of our bill and got a new solicitor. Dr De Soto
One of the Glazer partners back in the day was Caroline Sherry, who I think left in the last five years, and now seems to be at https://www.setfords.co.uk/our-people/profile/caroline_sherry/ . She always came across as a decent person. Perhaps she knows something about what's going on. the_hermit
Not to be too gloomy but the SRA are pretty hopeless. They seem to spend loads of resource hammering easy minor negligence cases relative to serious difficult cases like fraud. The SRA is itself under investigation: https://legalservicesboard.org.uk/news/enforcement-action-begun-against-sra-following-axiom-ince-review Edited November 8 by the_hermit Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351059-how-do-you-contact-glazer-delmar-solicitors/page/2/#findComment-1686051 Share on other sites
