Experienced maths tutor for all ages

Hello,

I have over 4 years of tutoring experience, working with students aged 5 to 16, across a wide range of abilities. During my time as a teaching assistant in a sixth form, I learnt how different students learn, which has helped me tailor my teaching methods to individual needs. I specialise in helping students with homework and general maths support, but I also love working with those who excel and are looking to go beyond their grade level.

I have extensive experience preparing students for 11+ exams and many of my students have been accepted into their preferred schools. If you are interested, I can focus on enhancing logical reasoning and problem-solving skills by teaching students how to solve Rubik’s cubes and various other puzzles, including Japanese logic puzzles. These activities are great for developing critical thinking and perseverance, skills that are invaluable both in and outside of the classroom.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong ability to identify why a student may struggle with a particular topic and adapt my teaching to make the material accessible and engaging. I also work hard to build rapport with students, creating an environment where they feel confident asking questions and participating in productive tutoring sessions.

A bit about me:

I recently completed my master’s in Computational Maths at the University of Edinburgh, and my passion for the subject is something I aim to pass on to every student I work with. In my spare time, I enjoy bouldering, solving puzzles, and baking, and I bring the same enthusiasm for challenges to my tutoring.

I have some availability and would love to help your child thrive in maths. References are available on request. Please feel free to DM me if you're interested!

Thanks,

Ananya

    • Chiming in to recommend the Canacabins team, who did a beautiful job completely rebuilding a well-loved (but falling down) shed into a new garden office. While they were at it, they also constructed a new pond surround, deck, railing, and patched up our decrepit fence, all to a high standard. A friendly team and very happy with the end result!
    • There isn’t a map for the Go Jauntly walk - I added that.  I plan to update it now the weather is getting warmer but haven’t yet. Part of the reason for adding it was that I couldn’t find a map.    Not going to help but Dulwich Festival will be doing a walk so might be worth asking them.
    • An idea if you are looking for something to do. I’ve visited and have just come across this again.    Vauxhall City Farm is a farm in London where we can see the animals the packaged meat in the supermarket comes from. Entrance is free, a donation of £4 is requested   Looking for a present you can adopt an animal - support the farm and the person you gift it to will get 3 lots of food to feed on visits.    The 50th Anniversary Appeal is currently running so they can do the farm up and hopefully give the animals a home and people the chance to see them for another 50 years. If you want to donate here’s the link    https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/growthenext50years
