New manhole needed to be built

I have rats under my floorboards and I got a company in to see where they were coming in. There is currently no manhole access to the waste system on my property and they have recommended to stop the rats accessing the pipework by installing a manhole at the front of the property with a valve so that the rats won't enter the property anymore.

I want to find out more about having a manhole cover built on my property and to see if it's the best solution but I'm unclear what trade would deal with this, is it a builder and if there are any suggestions out there that would be hugely helpful.

  I would check that you have in fact been switched over to paying on usage rather than the old fixed rate system with an annual increase. We had a meter installed 18 months ago but had to request paying on metered consumption.
