With Southgate in charge I wasn't expecting much more or better than that. On the upside qualification is assured, but when the real tests start coming Englands way, I'm not sure they'll cope.

Enjoyed my outing to Dulwich Hamlet this afternoon. Great game. Good result

2-0 to Dulwich. Needham_Market had a Penalty but it was saved.

Game had real pace.. Better than watching Millwall Hoofing the ball up and down the field.

Was a pay what you like event.. 2417 in attendance. Good to support out local team.

Still at least they won't have to experience of being embarrassed at the finals which is the fate that surely awaits England on the basis of the last two lamentable performances.

mine wasn't hate swear words - just the average garden variety :)

They actually let me on 15 minutes later so maybe lowest level.

When we started the Celtic league in Rugby a bit of rivalry started (I remember Gatland stirring it too at one point before a Wales-Ireland international) and that jumped over into football.

The England rivalry is still there - remember the players laughing and cheering when Iceland beat England. An ex England cricket captain did :)

I've been lucky enough to have been down in Cardiff a good few times for the rugby internationals. I love that the stadium is so close to the centre of town. Definitely my favourite venue probably helped by never seeing Ireland lose there (1 draw). One year pre-match me and my brother were invited to a club's private room/bar in a hotel just by chance. I think it was Neath. Pre-match everyone was very friendly and we were invited to return after the game. Well we did return and the game wasn't a draw. None of the buggers would talk to us. Come to think of it, I probably enjoy beating the Welsh even more than the English. Probably something to do with 1972.

Just out interest, how much did you pay? Obviously no problem if you don?t want to disclose.

On current form I wouldn't have any of Liverpool's defence. Smalling plays because I went for 3 at the back with wing backs. Normally would've gone for left-footed Blind but he played mid-week for Holland. I was being kind putting Coutinho in instead of Mkhitaryan...:)

The Irish love Cardiff and usually are welcomed (after the match anyway if not during)

Neath :) My father was from there - it can be 'peculiar'. The Neath rugby team of the 1980/1990s was the then bad boy team of Welsh rugby.

    • I am sure what the new plan is but who knows how the postal service will work from here onwards
    • My experience is that my local letter box does have week-day-ly collections - but I think very early in the morning, not at the old 'around 5.00pm' times. There are several daily collections from the box outside the Forest Hill Road sub-post office. I don't think the 'Monday' tab is now ever changed. Mail collections from boxes have got nothing to do with the service we (don't) get from the Peckham Delivery Office. Your Wednesday 12th posting would probably only have been collected on Thursday 13th, if it was posted after 9.00am. If it was being delivered in East Dulwich (where the Peckham DO does come into play) then getting it by the following Tuesday is probably par for the course.
    • Are there no daily collections from post boxes any more? On Wednesday Feb 12 I posted a Valentine's Card in the postbox which is about 20 metres from our house to make sure it arrived by Feb 14 (yes I know I could've put it thru letterbox but that's not as romantic is it). After I posted it I noticed the little metal thingy said "Monday" but I thought this must be a mistake and had not been changed. However, Valentine's Day came and went and no card arrived. In fact it arrived on the following Tuesday, Feb 18 so I'm guessing the Monday collection metal thingy was correct. Has it ever been announced officially that there are no longer daily collections from letterboxes? I remember a time, not even that long ago, when the red postman pat van would pull up at least twice a day, every weekday.
    • My lovely tuxedo cat, Rexy, has been missing since Wednesday which is very out of character. Rodwell Road area, SE22. He is a rescue cat so really quite timid with people he doesn’t know. If you spot him, could you please contact me? Many thanks. He is chipped and neutered.  Photos attached.
