With the new TV money an already competitive PL is going to get a lot more competitive. Clubs outside the top 6 don't have to sell a la Everton/Stones...

So you put your mortgage on it presumably?

I didn't see or hear about the reasons for the sendings off.

I really hope that is the case and the money doesn't go on stupid transfer fees and ridiculous wages.

That's the dog's bollocks.

Been waiting since I as a kid for a win at Anfield - remember a great 1-1 there in mid 70s when Keith Robson scored and Smith equalised and Mervyn Day played a blinder for us to get the draw.

Doesn't matter (to me anyway) that this isn't the Pool of old - we buried 'em.

Home form is down to nerves and the headless chicken panic when they feel the crowd on their backs. But with Nolan finally out of the way I think things will gel.

Article on the subject plus net spend table... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/saido-berahino-and-john-stones-nondeals-highlights-a-shift-in-premier-league-power-as-spurs-and-chelsea-fail-to-get-their-way-10478337.html

I did think about you today RD. Not for long though!

After our bad start & going one down, I thought I'd be congratulating you at the end & blaming our loss on the absence of Montero. But we didn't need him anyway!

I'm assuming you watched it & will agree that in the 2nd half we turned it around & deserved to win. :)

Not as far as I'm concerned. Who's going to give them a run for their money? Certainly not Arsenal, United, Liverpool or Chavs.

LVG has spent the best part of half a billion on his "project" with sod all return. Swansea deserved their victory today, Gary Monk showing you don't have to spend shed loads to get decent results. If any other manager had spent the same as LVG with the same end product the press would crucify them.

    • One thing we agree on FM.  I expect that is not new and I remember looking out from a 5th floor over a pavement near Traf Sq 20 years ago and asking what the numerous spots were on an otherwise prestige light grey footpath. Some local authorities put out gum bins but as with all litter just don't drop it.  And fag ends.  And disposable vapes.  And nitrous oxide cylinders!
    • Just a few more days to try and reach the target amount.  Many thanks for all your generosity and kindness
    • What is also happening - I don't know about Sainsbury's as I no longer shop there, but certainly in other supermarkets and with some manufacturers - is that products remain the same price but the quality or quantity is reduced. Just one example: I buy Waitrose Essential tissues, only because they have plain boxes with no branding once they are in use, and I like the colours (blue for the large ones and mauve  for the smaller ones). The tissues in the mauve box have recently become so thin that they disintegrate virtually immediately you use them. Same with Cushelle quilted toilet rolls. Well, they don't disintegrate, which would be revolting, but they have also got so thin that it's hardly worth buying the quilted ones. And as for  PG Tips ...... 🤬
    • I remember all those glowing recommendations, but I haven't seen any mention of them anywhere lately. Are they still going?
