A reliable and trustworthy plumber

Can anyone please recommend a good reliable plumber for my client. She is 80 something years old, lives in Brixton Hill and her boiler has broken down.

She has had some cowboys in who have seen an old lady, living on her own and asking for a big sum of cash up front which luckily she didn't do, but it has left her in a bit of a state and still without her boiler fixed

I need someone who will be very trustworthy, reliable and honest who is not going to charge her the earth just because she is old and lives in a house on her own

many thanks in advance

I hope I'm not too late but can recommend a fantastic plumber/gas engineer. He is very reasonable & definitely not a rip off, I have used him a few times now & wouldn't go to anyone else as I also had my fair experience with a few cowboys in the past. I have recommended him to a few people now who have used him & all been very happy with his work & price. If the lady still needs a plumber I strongly recommend Garry 07882642799. Plus he is also a genuinely nice guy & explains exactly what he is doing. Give him a try or definitely keep his number for any future work.

    • Place your on-screen cursor over the name of the sender, the sender's actual email address should appear, often with scammers it comes up with  a very unbusinesslike address. Failing that, you should be able to speak to Virgin and ask if legit, Microsoft on the other hand I wouldn't bother trying to contact...
    • Bit hard to do that in the middle of the night without causing even more disturbance to other neighbours than the original barking! Are you sure you need to provide an address? There must be loads of instances where it's very hard to trace the source of a noise, and I certainly wouldn't want to be roaming around by myself in the middle of the night trying to track it down! It does need to be triple glazing, not double. I was told that it's what they use for office windows at Heathrow, but I've no idea if that's true. It doesn't make the room completely soundproof, but it does make a huge difference. There must be no gaps anywhere, even very thin ones, where noise could get through.
