I really thing this is something councillors should be getting involved with as everyone is frustrated by it

You're frustrated by it - that doesn't mean everyone else is.

I don't think bickering with private phone companies to improve service for the residents of leafy Dulwich Village (oh no! My garden is so big I'm too far from a mast!) is a good use of councillors' limited time. Better they stick to things directly relevant to Southwark's remit, like social care, libraries, parks, youth activities and persecuting a neo-Stalinist War on Motorists.™

@Dogkennelhillbilly

The council's remit also covers planning applications. It is  planning refusals for new masts that has resulted in the not-spot in the area. It's not just DV but a much wider area.

If you do have mobile phone do you know  which mast you are getting your signal from and based on your handle, I'm guessing that with the DKH handle you connect to the one at Champion Hill. Lucky you!

The networks don't accept there's a not spot.

What applications and refusals in Dulwich Village are we talking about specifically? The only one mentioned so far was last year - and the reasons for binning it seem pretty reasonable.

Another earlier refusal was the one near the junction of Half Moon Lane and Village Way.

Is that the 82 foot tower above the school... almost a decade ago... and outside Dulwich Village? Or has there been another one since then?

But don't let your prejudice blinker your opinion...ahem

The councillors spent time lobbying to retain the ATM at the Post Office so the Village'ites could withdraw their gold bullion - so if they can do that they can represent the needs of their constituents by lobbying to improve mobile provision for those who live, work and play in the area. But let's hope they do a better job because of course the day after the photo op saying they had saved the ATM it it was removed.....much to the embarrassment of the councillors….

    • Nobody would know because no force is collecting any statistics to see if actioning NCHS is linked to reductions in actual hate acts. The only basis for this is a paper written 70 years ago which hypothesised such a link. Face validity, rather than statistics, seems the basis for this.
    • There is also a Post Office at Mount Pleasant. Which isn't the Royal Mail Sorting Office for London. If you Google it it seems quite a large building, I doubt it's doing the trade that justifies it now.
    • After the last 14 years of govt where things got demonstrably worse year on year on year - people did not rise up after 5 prime ministers in 6 years because of their ineptitude - the people did not rise up  The notion that a govt with a thumping majority is going to be overthrown is for the birds   People do understand what they inherited    the nfu might portray this as a battle on farmers - but so few will be  affected it’s impossible not to laugh   Plus, add in the hilarity of everyone who decried every street protest for 14 years now saying “bring it on!!” As for the poor - they have removed winter fuel from SOME pensioners who are more likely to afford it      they have also increase minimum wage for the poor   Which ain’t nothing    and well done for squeezing a jaded “money tree” reference in there
    • My mum unfortunately left her Freedom Pass (and drivers licence) on the P13 bus going from Lordship Lane to Streatham! It was at approx 3.15pm on Sunday 17 Nov. They got off at the Langton Rise bus stop on Underhill Rd. Please message me if you picked it up!! Many thanks 😊
