Two questions about the meaning of the place-name "Dulwich".

1] Has anyone come across an explanation of the meaning of the word "Dulwich" other than the commonplace one that appears in places like Wikipedia?

2] What growing conditions are required for the dill plant?

John - seems a few learned historians thought it means "village in the valley"
