I've posted this in the trades section but got nowhere so wondered whether you lovely family types might be able to help.

We have a broken Buzz Lightyear space buggy. It is (I think) a straightforward problem with the rear axel but I need someone who understands mechanics better than me to mend it. Anyone know anyone handy with that kind of thing?

Depends on what's broken. If the electronics are fine, but the axel has broken or slipped its gear, then someone who's good with bikes could probably replace or rethread the axel if its metal. However if the broken parts are plastic, it would be much more difficult to repair without correct replacement pieces.

If the problem is electrical, then you might get a local electrician to take a quick look.

Did you contact the maker, or shop where you bought it?

Could you post a picture, so we have a better idea of what it looks like / what might be wrong with it?

    • leave the window alone and put in some "secondary glazing" For sound proofing, you need as big an air gap as you can muster (in this image they should have used the whole windowsill) if you try your own DIY screen (with perspex & wood) you must seal it as far away from the window as you can and add baffles round the perimeter inside (eg. egg cartons) (or other sound proofing materials are availble online). The air gap is your baffle (buffer). Cheaper than replacing the window.

    • Hi we have a beautiful half size that my son learned to play on, presumably that would be too big?
    • Or you could fit them with A+B magnetic strips. I have diy secondary glazing for heat insulation rather than noise and fitted them with magnetic A+B strips. Also, if you'd like a less DIY job, on googling I found this kind of business with info on options: https://www.secondarydiyglazing.com/secondary-glazing-systems/
