Hello,

I am a friendly, patient, and highly experienced teacher with 12 years of classroom experience including 6 years of head of department experience. I offer tutoring in the following areas:

Maths - Y7-11 (i.e. 11+, 13+, GCSE)

Physics - Y7-13 (i.e. GCSE, A Level)

Physics / Engineering / Natural Sciences - university entrance exam preparation and practice interviews (including Oxbridge)

I have access to a wealth of resources to help engage, challenge, and support pupils whether they be looking to understand a specific topic area, push for a top grade, better understand the fundamentals, or simply to gain confidence and practice exam technique. Sessions are always planned for the specific pupil(s) I am working with. Whilst a number of tutors will offer remote tutoring, I remain convinced that in-person tutoring is far more beneficial for the pupil and their learning. As such, I only offer face-to-face tutoring.

Currently, I have some weeknight availability for regular sessions and offer competitive rates. Group sessions also offered up to a maximum of 3 pupils.

Please feel free to contact me for more information or to discuss more.

Kinds regards,

Alex Birchmore

    • The Oxfam shop refusal may be because they have very limited storage space at the back of their very small shop?
    • I agree. The staff are always lovely!
    • Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.
    • Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
