I was thinking about this the other day. I was hungover (quel suprise) and needed my usual hangover cure, when I suddenly realised that there was no Mc Toilet around here.

I have to say, that is quite impressive.

I have been travelling in China and found that even in the remotest parts, there was always the reassuring Golden Arches. It was the only place you could order food with a menu in English!

Maybe Gourmet Burger Kitchen can start offering a cheap, processed, spam-like McD-style burger on their menu? Seems like there would be some takers for it.

HonaloochieB - what about a Wendy's? I used to love those when I was a nipper. Can't remember if they had real crockery though.

There is a Wimpy in Sydenham, I went in there a while back quite excited, but I felt quite disappointed after I'd eaten... MacD's beef burgers are crap, but they are doing some good chicken at the moment!

I wouldn't say GBK do bad quality food, but I have been there twice, and both times left feeling very bloated, but totally unimpressed, and been over ?20 poorer.

Just McDonalds or any of the fast food places?

And to just call them evil without backing up the statement is a bit of an easy and tired pot-shot isn't it?

(although I'm probably on your side in the argument you understand ;-) )

PS great name by the way

i agree mcdonalds is evil and is junk food!!! they try and suck our kids in with free toys and proccessed food. and why would you want to buy food from someone over the counter who cant even look you in the eye as you know they are doing all sorts of unmentionables to your mcdog burger!

    • Trinco is at 20 Lordship Lane, near Goose Green. The building is called Oru Space although I did notice the other day that there is a small neon sign that says Trinco outside though easy to miss. Good for Sri Lankan vegetarian curries, not good if you are after chicken tikka masala-style food that all the other curry restaurants in Lordship Lane serve (edit - sorry Moovart, I've just seen you've also answered this!).
    • They had a Chocoholic key chain on them. We think it might have happened around the Coop.  Please do DM if found!
    • Don't forget Netflix. A few weeks ago, the US issued a security strategy document warning of Europe's "civilisational erasure" due to immigration. Britain's culture however faces a greater threat from the more subtle influence of American entertainment promoting American values and the American way of life, a kind of "Netflixisation". There are many people who are happy to pay a Netflix subscription but refuse to pay the BBC license fee, so money goes into making more American entertainment while depriving the necessary investment into British programming. I wonder at the timing of the issue of the US demand for Greenland becoming news again and can't help but think it is partly a Trump misdirection of Europe's attention from the dreadful events in Minesota and elsewhere in the US. Putin of course would love it if there was conflict between the US and Europe.
