Just spotted in garden (Underhill Rd): what looked like white Budgerigar with blue tail feathers

Recommended Posts

I just saw what looked like a lost/escaped Budgerigar - predominantly white with blue tail feathers. It landed in my garden before flying on.

I am at the Horniman/South Circular end of Underhill Rd SE22.

In case anyone is looking...

Sadly she says it  isn't hers, which is all blue.

Though I have never seen a white budgie? Could it have looked white because of sun shining on it or something?

It seems unlikely that there could be two escaped budgies in the area at the same time?

Hi Sue,

Thanks for following this up. I was drawn to the bird because it was all white (as far as I could see) with beautiful blue tailfeathers. It looked domestic rather than wild. I am hoping it might be attracted to the bird feeders again. Next time I'll try to get a photo - too surprised and too quickly gone last time!

Best wishes,

Ilona

Well, lost or not, at least it's surviving so far! ❤️

    • I mean good luck to you, but with 4 staff you have still failed to submit your statutory accounts for your two eligible years of operation and are overdue with them this year too. Companies House have taken steps to close you twice. Your annual loss in trading is increasing each year.  You have had two directors resign in 2022 leaving only 1 in place which isn't the best if you want good governance- but that also stops you from being able to raise funds from trusts and foundations.
    • There's still a massive shortage of student housing in London regardless of short term fluctuations - just look at how expensive it is now and what a barrier it is to mobility! What are people worried about anyway? That there will be so few students in London that a private landlord has to cut rents and makes lower profits? Oh no! 😂
    • This is probably a stupid question, sorry. Could you contact all the surgeries whose catchment area you are in (and haven't already found wanting) and ask them directly if they have GPs with the knowledge and experience you need? Because I imagine there are not many people using this forum who can help, though I may be wrong.
    • I don't understand this, probably my fault. I thought the Crown offices were going to close completely and the  services they provided were going to be moved to local shops with space for a sub post office. But if the Post Office is  seeking franchisees for the Crown offices, that implies that the offices themselves would stay. But if they are not profitable for the Post Office, how could they become profitable for a franchisee?
