Oakhurst Grove ~ Boutique Apartments

Recommended Posts

I live on Oakhusrt Grove and see that Acorn Estates are currently marketing 3 new "boutique" apartments on the street. I took a peek at them the other day and have to say they are magnificent. They have all been "dressed" by an interior designer so look like show homes. The previous resident had let the house fall into disrepair but from what I saw the other day, they are now finished to a very high standard so if you are looking for a pristine property in East Dulwich, then I would definitely check these out. No idea how much they are on for but I was very impressed with them, especially the ground floor "apartment". BTW I have no affiliation with Acorn Estates...!!

I think there will be a lot of interest Jeremy...exactly what does an extra ?200k, above the average ED 2 bedder price, get you? ;-)

Words like "more", "money", "than", and "sense" spring to mind :))

ETA: Pity they didn't get a decent garden designer in as well.

ETA: Actually, forget the "as well" - that implies the interior designer was decent :))

It's a common trick nowadays not to provide bedroom built-in storage, or even 'dress' a bedroom with a wardrobe. If you look at the size of the bedrooms on the floor plan you can see why...

...with the propensity of cats in the area, you'd think they would've come up with rooms big enough to swing one in.

To balance the negativity a bit, there was a studio flat that needed renovating up for auction on that road 4 or 5 months back; it was guided at 110 and went for 195 if I remember rightly. This is after a similar sized one set back off goose green went for 115 18 months ago. Therefore I wouldn't underestimate how much prices have pushed on in the last few months and I don't blame them for having a punt at a fairly strong level.

A separate room from the living room, not an open plan space with a kitchen that looks like it has been built in a coridoor. New conversions never provide enough kitchen space. My purpose built, turn of the century flat has a good sized separate kitchen with enough room for a table and chairs. It also has cupboards and a larder.

    • I know from experience that season ticket holders can sell their seat for a game, but it's then sold on to either silver or red members. Long gone are the days when you could turn up and buy tickets, or at the turnstiles I'm afraid
    • Some clubs have a system for season ticket holders to put their seat up for resale if they can't use it for a particular match, so it might be worth ringing the ticket office to see if any are available for the match you want to go to
    • Actually, it is not just being pedantic, it is also being a little disingenuous - people and companies make plans for their lives and their day to day operations way ahead of time. There are expectations and there is also the responsibility from when you are providing a service that you are reliable and dependable - people count on that. And a business that is not reliable will not survive long term.  If you really believe that "8 weeks" is good enough to find a pool in the area (or expect all the swimmers to also be able to accommodate such), I really don't know what to say, but I am amazed as to what people with no knowledge and personal experience of going through the issue can say with "a straight face" and think they know what they are talking about...  And again, this is *only* affecting one club/coach. Do you even ask yourself why that is? Do you support such a move? Or, asking from a different point of view, would you like to be in the receiving end of that situation, whilst seeing that other clubs using the facilities were not facing the same treatment???    Alleyn's is clearly on the wrong with this one...
    • There may well be numerous empty seats with people on holiday, and the club is notorious for season. Ticket holders not turning up Vs lower teams on inconvenient days/times.  Ideally there should be a way of passing these on at face value or below but I expect many are resold through 'legal' tout sites.  Sorry not exactly helpful.  Advice is retitle the thread with exact requirements to hopefully target the right people.  I'll ask around.
