American presidential race

Was planning to put something up on Biden, his diminishing chances of re-election and my worries and frustration over this.  I am sure we don't get the full story but his gaffes continue.

Yesterday's assignation attempt on Trump makes it even more likely that he will return to the White House, three people on the Kuennsberg programme yesterday including the presenter herself referred to him as 'President Trump', rather than Mr or 'former President' Trump,  At least Biden only called him Vice President!

There is a certain irony as Trump and the republicans do not want tighter gun controls and are responsible for much of the toxicity we see in politics nowadays.  The former Tory advisor got it spot on when the availability of firearms in the US a bonkers situation.  And talking on toxicity why on earth did the Beeb go straight to Farage on Kuennsberg, when all he will do is tout his usual lines that it is all the fault of the woke liberal media, and a special name check for one of our locals, Jo Brand.

Warning, lots of woke BBC references in the attached: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2019/jun/13/police-investigate-jo-brands-battery-acid-remark

On Googling there are plenty of links to GB news and Farage's FB, but can't bring myself to post these let alone read them.  How woke is that?

Malumbu, apparently all ex presidents are referred to as "president".

American presidents, that is.

Who knows why. Seems somewhat confusing.

    • Guess there is nothing as queer as folks (or American voters)
    • Just moved into the area and thought id sign up to the forum to find local business to use, I would also like to recommend AFA waste, called them yesterday and they came today. Dean was great he showed me he's licence and was in and out as quick as I could say job done.
    • In a city where successive governments have allowed property prices to spiral out of control, this just seems like a really cynical move. Given that every other mid-terrace already has a full size dormer, I can't see what benefit there is to anyone to prevent further such development from happening. For many it will be the only way to increase space without moving out of the area. As families grow up and kids get bigger, more space is needed. What is the reason for doing this? It can't be aesthetics because then presumably they'd go to all the other properties and force them to reverse their developments. OK it seems like permitted development stands for houses. What on earth benefit is there to restrict the top floor in a house (i.e. a flat) from doing the same thing? Also what'll it do to property prices? Surely it could put a big value divide between neighbours houses? Really bizarre thinking
    • It sounded like classic whataboutism. Which is often about erasing the horror in question. Why not start a separate thread about Sudan? What's behind your post? If it's not about diverting or erasing, then what was the point you were making?
