You can park for free for 30 mins in Melbourne Grove round corner and Grove Vale. It's a bit of a pain because you still have to register by phone as if paying but it's a lot closer to M&S. Or you could always go to M&S on Lordship Lane, parking for a short time is fairly easy around there. -

Yep, it's a 2 hour stay, pretty sure it's less on match days but double check the signage as they do record your reg on entry and exit. -

You could book the wrong lane with no repercussions but hopefully etiquette prevents this. If I turned up and there were >10 people in the fast or medium lanes I think it would be sufficiently unpleasant to have rather not turned up in the first place.
