You were in its territory - they were here before us 🤷‍♀️

Also 😂

Never used to see foxes in East Dulwich when I first moved here 40 years ago. Nor did I see them when I grew up in West London.

There were definitely foxes here more than 40 years ago. There was a den in the old chapel waste ground in Hindmans Road and then when they demolished the prefabs, the foxes “took over” the remaining site until the houses were built.

Thanks for that. I was probably walking around in a world of my own ...

I think foxes have been around us for as long as the difference now is they do not stay away and hidden until night.  They are no longer as timid as they once were.  Apparently during a research project there is a clear difference in brain sizes of rural and urban foxes.  Rural foxes having the larger brains.  🦊🦊🦊

30 years ago I'd see a fox every so often it would be a little unusual, now several a day and 5 or ten times as many.  Urban foxes live longer than their country counterparts and smaller territories due to more plentyful food.  Wish they'd eat more squirrels and parakeets!

Ha that’s weird, Hindmans road was literally where I lived (with lots of foxes!) but I just moved to France yesterday. Miss the beautiful foxes already! They were so chill around our cats, it was very sweet 🦊

"Sweet" wasn't the word that came to mind when I found the enormous hole the foxes had dug in our back garden in order to exhume the nibbled dead rat I'd buried there the night before.

The stinking corpse was left right outside our back door.

No, not sweet

    • I have a lovely young French couple staying with me at the moment. They are going to queue overnight at Wimbledon for tickets on Sunday (for Monday). They did it earlier this week and were quite chilly and got no sleep. Does anyone have a small 2 person tent lying around that they could borrow? The rules for the queue are quite strict so it needs to be quite basic I believe. I can return it on Tuesday/Wednesday or make sure it goes to a subsequent good home if you have one lying around that you'd like to get rid of. Cheers, Cath
    • Did you mean PA - Physician Associates?  They have very limited training  (about two years) yet their job title has the word Physician attached to it. It’s very shady.
    • Too long a saga to post on here, and water long ago under the bridge. I didn't complain. I didn't find out it was the wrong hospital department until long afterwards, so  I had unnecessary investigations. I didn't want to take the antibiotics but I was desperate.
    • Many cafes? I only remember two in North Cross Road at any one time when the greengrocers was there? The Blue Mountain was one of them, then Rose opened one at the back of her shop. There was a bar, The Drum, are you thinking of that?
