j-mo
Hi, I'm going to be looking for a nanny to start in January and wondered how soon I should start looking? Seems a bit soon now?ThanksJmo Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/34486-how-soon-should-i-start-looking-for-a-nanny/ Share on other sites
fl0wer
How old is your child? It seems there is a 'window' at 10 months when baby is attached securely to parent but not averse to everyone else on principle. tomk
Most start quite quickly - so far too early unless you know a specific person with upcoming availability. Start looking & advertising from November-ish. Indiana
Both times I have started looking 4 months in advance and secured one within a month or two. This was partly due to the fact that it has been a Sept/Oct start and lots of Nannies know in advance if their role is coming to an end at the start of the school year.I guess with a January start it may be a bit trickier but I would definitely start looking in Sept/October as December is a write off with Chistmas so ideally you want to find the right nanny by November. j-mo
Hi Piaf Lets def chat, although am thinking about dropping b's days at nursery down and having the nanny look after him a bit too, and pick him up earlier than I would be able to do his tea etc. that's why I hadn't said anything to you yet. Piaf
Oh I know: so tricky to get just the right set up! I am pondering what best to do to, that's why might be an idea to pool thoughts, if not the actual nanny! Are you back? Around tomorrow? EDNA
I'd agree with the above post - around November should be sufficient time to find a nanny. If you are thinking about a nannyshare then probably good to try and find another family slightly earlier than Nov, so fully prepared.Best of luck!East Dulwich Nanny Agencywww.eastdulwichnannyagency.com Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/34486-how-soon-should-i-start-looking-for-a-nanny/#findComment-668276 Share on other sites
