I have an almost 5 year old boy and 2 year old dtr and am wondering what days/trips out we could do over the summer. The holidays are suddenly starting to look very long and I'm worried I will struggle to keep both kiddies entertained. Planning on booking my boy into Dulwich Hamlets holiday club for a few alternate weeks but really want to have some nice days out with both kids. We can travel by car or public transport but am at a loss as to what's doable so would really appreciate any tips from Forumites as to what is out there.

Thanks in advance!

There is so much on in London, a good place to start is with all the museums as they run programmes, the V and A have quite a bit on, as well as locally the Horniman.

Southbank usually does festivals etc

You can also go to ChildrenscMuseum in Bethnal Green, easy by overland, as well as Jeffrye Museum. (All have a childrens programme)

Dulwich Picture Gallery and park a good combo.

Artastic, who advertise on here do art days at Jags

dish and spoon (visit there facebook page) hold regular stuff including crafty cooks for pop in sessions

Good option to pick up the free families magazine as well as some of the local newspapers who will also advertise.

The what's on thread on this forum also advertises what is happening regularly.

    • FOUND! I’m absolutely delighted to say that, after nearly two months, Rexy has been found and is now safely back home. He’s a bit skinny and tired but otherwise seems well. Thank you to everyone who kept an eye out, reached out or messaged with potential leads. And of course, to the wonderful couple who managed to gain his trust and messaged us. We are over the moon and he is enjoying some hearty meals and home comforts to start his recovery! Thank you all again. 🤗
    • Rising rents and business rates. That's what you're thinking of isn't it?..
    • I could hazard a guess as to why the "excellent long-term barber" in Forest Hill closed down.
    • All the parents looking after their kids instead of skiving from their meaningless desk jobs might mean it's quieter on here. Still, at least it gives free rein to the bad-tempered, long-winded pensioners that begin their posts "having resided in Dulwich for a not inconsiderable number of decades, may I be so bold as to suggest..." 😉
