Yes, they thanked me for pointing out the errors of their ways and agreed never to do it again. Or maybe not. There was also two scenes when I asked drivers to turn their engines off when sitting idling by Peckham Rye. I wont recount the tale but they did not appreciate my request. I've long since given up. My experience was similar to Nigel Havers, "go forth and multiply".

I also used to fantasise about putting a potato in the exhaust. Gone are the days when you could kill the occupants through carbon monoxide poisoning as the levels are relatively low. Not oxides of nitrogen though.
I saw couple of people in hi-vis jackets, hard hats putting a ladder up against the sign on my way out early evening 9th October. On my way back I looked at the sign and (it took me a few seconds!) spotted the change.
