cleolb
Does anyone know who owns the empty commercial unit next to the estate agents at the Barry Road/Rye junction? It used to be the Neighbourhood Vet. It seems to potentially have squatters in it but I am interested to know if there are any plans to develop it into something? Administrator Joe Posted April 11 Administrator Share Posted April 11 There have been various plans to develop the site with a mixed retail and residential development. It was last discussed on this forum back in April 2022 here: There doesn't seem to have been much progress since then. The planning application is available for viewing here: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=R7P7HJKBLY200 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/343469-commercial-property-on-the-rye/#findComment-1662231 Share on other sites
cleolb
Thank you! This is very helpful. Completely sympathetic to the objections to the size of the development and the supermarket (definitely not needed). I am on the lookout for a space suitable for community yoga classes. I have long thought this would be a perfect spot overlooking the park. I want to offer free community beginners classes, as well as advanced offerings in a social impact model. So if anyone hears of anything on this, please drop a comment! Thanks. alice
There are already so many community yoga classes within a five minute walk, I don’t think you’d get the income to cover the rent Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/343469-commercial-property-on-the-rye/#findComment-1662868 Share on other sites
