LB171
Hello all, I'll be moving to SE22 soon and wondered if there is a better / faster broadband service with good customer service any of you would recommend, please? Penguin68
BT Openreach has now run fibre to most (I think) of ED - so FTTP from any supplier reliant on BT Openreach at 1000 MgB - the local cable company - was NTL but now trades as Virgin Media - offers higher speeds, but there have been real service issues at times. FTTC (hybrid fibre and copper for the last leg) has been available for a long time - best speeds around 60-70 MgB. 5G coverage patchy, but there is some. Sue
I'm about to get fibre via Plusnet/Openreach, and I've always been very happy with Plusnet's customer service. But you can Google reviews of all the providers. I suggest haggling hard once you've decided what deal you are after. As Penguin says, there have been a lot of issues with Virgin in this area. RegularDan
I’ve used VM at 1Gbps - good speed but service degraded for months - I left. Im now back with Andrew’s and Arnold, which backs onto OpenReach. Never had any service issues https://www.aa.net.uk/ 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/343378-best-broadband-service-for-east-dulwich/#findComment-1662008 Share on other sites
Emily1011
I’ve lived on lordship lane for 8 years and been working from home since 2020. I’ve used sky, plus net and virgin media. Now moving to Vodafone due to price hikes. All have been fine for 15 plus devices in a 2 person household, although Virgin got greedy and they prefer you to talk to a BOT on webchat function, shoddy customer service and the coverage was lagging and patchy of late even though no service disruption (apparently). I even terminated my contract with them a month early via messaging service. Plusnet is very good. Very reliable, fast and apparently good customer service - but tbh I have never had to use it. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/343378-best-broadband-service-for-east-dulwich/#findComment-1662468 Share on other sites
Alec1
I've been with Plusnet for nearly 20 years, 15 here in ED. Recently moved to full fibre with them, and it's been very reliable/stable. I find customer services fantastic. Important to call them when they are about to renew your contract. Haggle, and always, in my experience, I have managed to get a very good deal. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/343378-best-broadband-service-for-east-dulwich/#findComment-1662604 Share on other sites
