Sue
I just opened Firefox on my laptop, and all my tabs and history have disappeared. Including all my emails 😮 Tried to restore them and nothing happened. There is a new folder on my desktop called "Old Firefox Data' with a load of incomprehensible (to me) files dated today. Can anybody shed any light? 😮 Googling hasn't brought up anything useful, but I haven't searched very hard yet. I can access emails on my mobile, but this is very inconvenient! vladi
Locate Your Old Firefox Data Folder: When you reset Firefox, an “Old Firefox Data” folder is created on your desktop. This folder contains data from your previous profile. Access Your Current Firefox Profile Folder: Open Firefox. Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner. Select Options. In the left sidebar, click Sync. Click Recover lost data. Enter your Firefox Account credentials and click Sign in. Choose the data you want to recover and click Recover. Your data will be restored to your browser1 3. Manually Copy Selected Data: Navigate to the Firefox profile folder: Click Help > Troubleshooting Information. Under Profile Directory, click Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)13. In the “Old Firefox Data” folder on your desktop, you can: Copy specific files (e.g., bookmarks) to the current Firefox profile folder. For bookmarks, look for the places.sqlite file or restore them from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/342190-firefox-problem-help/#findComment-1659301 Share on other sites
Sue
Thanks very much for this, but unfortunately the instructions don't relate to what appears when I follow them! Possibly I have a different version of Firefox? I will investigate further!
