malumbu
Government failed to grasp the nettle, allowing illegal bikes on the road, grey imports etc. So their response is to simply roll over and allow more powerful assisted bikes and twist and go full electric. https://cyclingindustry.news/cycling-industry-alarm-at-government-ebike-regs-consultation/ Do respond to the consultation, I have www.gov.uk/government/consultations/smarter-regulation-proposed-changes-to-legislation-for-electrically-assisted-pedal-cycles I'd love to hear informed comments including those who think this is a good thing. Rockets
Good news for the Deliveroo/Uber delivery riders. Bad news for the fire brigade Bad news for pedestrians Good news for those who think e-bikes need to be registered And given the reaction from them, clearly bad news for the UK bike/e-bike manufacturing industry that clearly isn't ready to support these new bigger e-bikes and/or sees market share erosion to them putting yet more pressure on the troubled bike manufacturing industry. malumbu
Following the increase in confiscation of illegal ebikes thought that this would be an interesting topic to discuss Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/341908-e-bike-consultion/#findComment-1680796 Share on other sites
first mate
Thing is, I did a quick search and it seems there may be ways to soup up e-bikes without it being obvious they are modified. Therefore, it seems policing on speed, penalties etc.., just as for cars, may be necessary? have not read link yet. If this is already on the cards then good.
