Anyone experiencing even greater issues securing a GP appointment with Tessa Jowell GP practice?

Clowns is a polite version of what they could be called, their are far stronger adjectives I could have used but didn't.

Maybe just stick to describing what they did, rather than calling them anything?

Though I completely understand your frustration, having encountered similar people in official positions in the past who you wonder how they ever got their jobs, grammar.

Yes, I'm having a nightmare trying to get a follow up appointment. I saw a Dr at Tessa Jowell GP practice on 22nd January who referred me for blood tests. Had first blood test on 24th January. A whole month later, they told me it had been sent 'in the wrong container'. So I did a second blood test on 25th Feb. Was then sent a text saying that one hadn't been processed. I then did an online, private 1 day blood test to get my result and am now trying to get a follow up apponintment with the GP. Requested appointment 7 days ago on Ask My GP app. So far no reponse...In the meantime my symptoms are getting worse.

Bloods are done on the ground floor, never had any problems with them doing them. And I've found the Tessa Jowell GP Surgery to be really proactive. Perhaps pop in and have a chat with reception and establish what has happened.

I saw my GP at The Gardens on Wednesday, had blood tests yesterday at Tessa Jowell (not the surgery, the blood testing place)  and had a text from my GP surgery this afternoon with the results.

Your experience sounds appalling.

Oh my oh my, you really do seem dissatisfied with the "service" you've received. Good luck with the Ombudsman, personally I found them to be an utter and total shambles staffed by unqualified clowns who neither listened or were willing to do any background reading, when I had to involve them regarding a local dental surgery.

My experience with the Tessa Jowell Surgery as a new patient is poles apart from the one you describe. They have been pleasant, kind, informative, helpful and genuinely caring. I have followed their online protocols and everything has been fine.

Perhaps posting your complaint on a public forum wasn't the best way to try and get it addressed and maybe if I may suggest an alternative approach could be for you to arrange a meeting with the Practice Manager and raise your concerns with them and have any evidence available, or just find another practice that meets your needs.

The service diabolical, which is increased when your ill or have additional needs. I am really pleased for you, that as a new patient, your experiences are "poles apart". might be better to read back and you will see things have been put in writing to this organization. Emails are generally ignored by the practice, but notice a response does arrive when including the head office email address and thew CQC. In regards to a cozy meeting, nah. Tried that, very little is changed. I had to wait a week for a sickness certificate this month. My line manager did not believe I had contacted my GP practice. I had broken the sickness policy, by not presenting a sick certificate on my first day of sickness. Lots of apology, and a disgruntled line manager.

Referring back to your comment, am I not allowed to express myself on a public forum?

Re fit/sickness notes - it used to be that the patient would self certify themselves for the first week and then request a certificate from the GP.   If that’s not the case, when did it change?

    • Sadly The Palmerston has (imo) gone the same way. A gradual deterioration from the quirky charm it once had to a bland sort of corporate style and (imo) a horrid font for the pub name over the door outside  and terrible (imo) art inside (apologies if you are one of the artists, but I understand the art was shipped in by the pubco). Tastes differ, obviously, but it all sets my teeth on edge. In one of its incarnations, it used to have regularly  changing art displays by local artists. These  were much more interesting and engaging, and if one particular set were not to your personal taste, at least they weren't there permanently. I will still continue to go there, because the manager and the staff are lovely. The changes aren't their fault, and I'm sure the pub will do well, because - as with the EDT - it is presumably meeting what research has shown the present East Dulwich residents want. ETA: To be fair, some of the most recent changes have been an improvement, eg changing some of the  lighting to fit in better with its surroundings.
