Hi everyone, came across this forum whilst doing that stupid thing where you google your own name, and felt I need to reply to the majority of comments left here. Yes, I did design the catalogues to cash website. It is a simple form website that I designed for my friends business whilst I was learning to use Dreamweaver (a web design program) for practice. Can't give you all the ins and outs on everything, but he does Betterware or one of the catalogues, and the web site was designed for him to add people to his team of catalogue people. Like I said, can't comment on the ins and outs as don't really know that much about it, or how it works, other than it's not a scam, and I know that ricky makes a monthly wage from it. Enough to support him, his missus and daughter. So can't be all bad!

I just googled my name and didn't find anything about scams.

Can someone explain please!

Scammers - greedy clever people ripping off greedy ignorant people.

Ignorant in this case being 'unaware' rather than stupid.

Paul Vegg, Google 'Mike Haley Scams" and you will see some interesting stuff on scammers.

Listen, at the end of the day I have provided the information I have. It is not a scam, but a recruitment site for a Betterware catalogue representative. LIKE IT OR NOT I don't really care, as it's the truth. What I do care about however is comments insinuating and making accusations about my integrity, and honesty and I will not tolerate that.

Yes there are scammers on the internet and i'm sure there are hundreds of scams, but I am not and have never been party to any. Comments like it's a scam just because I say it's not are a direct comment on my honesty and are liable, and as I already stated I will not tolerate any such accusations. Take it or leave it but beware, you have been warned. DR Paul John Vagg

No idea, but we have been warned and thats good enough for me. Yes siree. Dr John Vigg denies he is a scammer and thats all I need to know.

How do you know *Bob*? I haven't a clue either but I'm worried you know what I'm thinking. Is it a science?

  • 2 weeks later...

Now then just registered first time poster Martin,

The point being made is not whether any explanation from Paul is plausible, but that from the responders here no one cares a jot.

Whilst implications that he is a scam artist may be actionable, pointing out that he is dull as ditch water is not.

Yours

Dr Reeko Ph.D. Cantab ('tis true you know)

Please forgive me, as you quite rightly pointed out, this is my first/second posting on here. Comments from others on this posting, and indeed the previous posting did seem to suggest to me that they were saying he was dishonest. A fact that I am sure is NOT true.

I also think that he (Paul Vagg) cares as his name is being de-famed quite wrongly. I also was not aware that calling someone (as a direct insult) dull was not wrong.

Thanks for your time.

    • Just astonishing - how do they do it? Well done for being so on the ball.
    • Shocking - so fast. Machines can have a false device for inserting your card into and then they retain it. Your bank should return your money
    • FYI East Dulwich neighbours: I was in the middle of a cash withdrawl at the cashpoint at the Tesco Express on ED road (the one next to the Esso petrol station) when a man appeared beside me waving his hands over the screen and saying not to use it because it had just taken his card. He then dissapeared and I cancelled the withdrawl. No card was returned. It took me literally 30 seconds (max) to realise something wasn't right and 'freeze' the card on my mobile/banking app. I immediately got a txt message from my bank saying a transaction had just been declined, and then another. I logged in to app and £251 had already been taken. This all happened increadibly quickly - the whole incident from first encounter to money being taken and me freezing card was probably around 3 minutes. The guy must have somehow seen me put my PIN number in. It's possible there was some kind of card skmming involved, but I don't know for sure. The man was around 5ft 6/7, black and wearing a covid-type face mask. I don't remember what clothes he was wearing. I got the feeling (mainly from his voice and eyes) that he wasn't young - maybe mid-30s to mid-40s (but I can't be sure). Obviously I repoted to police.
    • It would be incredible if the community supported small businesses rather than a chain (Gail's being a very large chain).   Sadly, consumers don't realise their power - as you can see also by the number of coffee cups etc that are still being bought and contribute to landfill - it' not hard to be responsible, just inconvenient.
