Hi,

Not sure if anyone can help but I've run out of Bisoprolol. I ordered via my repeat prescription but the system is taking longer than usual. Chemist has given me emergency supply in the past but is no longer allowed and suggested I called 111 who may be able to issue prescription. I've had so many problems in the past with 111 though I thought I'd see first if anyone has a few tablets they can 'lend' me until my prescription comes through and I can replace them.

Seems crazy but otherwise I might have to sit in A&E for umpteen hours just to get four small tablets.

If you call NHS111 the out of hours GP can prescribe to you.

That's what the chemist suggested but I don't have a lot of confidence in 111's prescription getting to the chemist in time. A few weeks ago my daughter injured her eye - 111 referred her to st george's eye specialist in tooting - she went all the way there and they had no record of referral and wouldn't see (no pun intended) her.

I've used the 111 service when I forgot medication when I went away. Worked brilliantly. All done on line https://111.nhs.uk/emergency-prescription

thanks I did this and luckily I picked a chemist that's open all day rather than my local one that closes at 1pm because I've been told it will take up to three hours for the instructions to get through to the pharmacy. As long as I can get it today i should be ok.

Update - Got meds at 3.30 so the system does work - if slower than I was hoping!

    • Sadly, the impact this budget is having on the economy was felt far and wide before it even occurred  BBC News - Retail sales fell in October as Budget fears hit spending - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gmy9xldgno The increase in employers NI, whilst not directly taxing working people, will be passed on to them in higher costs of services and goods so it's an indirect tax.  The argument of the alleged 20 billion black hole, I was always taught "To cut your coat according to your cloth" and the government should have taken a little time to boost the econimy before increasing wages and spending. The current feel is that they are increasing costs, red tape and inflation, all of which is not giving businesses the confidence to grow and generate income which inversely increases the tax income.

    • A big shout out and recommendation for Dan at Top Signal Service (www.topsignalservice.co.uk - 0795 766. 4001). Dan responded quickly to sort out our aerial problems, he was brilliant , a pleasure to deal with. Great to have a local company to call on who are real experts.
    • So does anybody know why all these police were there, apart from doing their shopping at Tesco  and keeping warm with their car engines running (to be fair, you can hardly blame them for that, this weather)? Are they still there? How many of them are/were there? Has nobody asked them what they are doing there, rather than asking on here?!
