Hi, I highly recommend Hollie Stroud http://www.londonhypnobirthing.co.uk/. I gave birth early June after going on a course with Hollie and can tell you it works;) Hollie lives in East Dulwich and is lovely. I really looked forward to each of the sessions we had booked. The course was enjoyable for both me and my husband and we have made friends with the few other psrticipating couples as a result.
I second that! Definitely go to Hollie at London Hypnobirthing! Hypnobirthing is incredible and Hollie's course is wonderful. Hypnobirthing helped me through the pregnancy, our beautiful home birth and beyond. It also connected us as a couple and made my husband feel 100% involved. Do it do it do it.

Hollie is a local young Mum who runs fab hypnobirthing classes. I third those recommendations. If you do a search on this forum her details will come up. In fact here ya go . .. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,1127475,1127475#msg-1127475

You know me - I like to keep it local if I can ;)

I did a course with Judith Flood at Guys hospital (she has the benefit of midwife experience) and I can really recommend her. I remained at home for 36 hours (had to go to hospital as there were a few complications) but had vontouse delivery with no pain relief

Another recommendation for Hollie - she's lovely and the course is good and spread over a decent amount of sessions. Birth is imminent so I am hoping what we have learnt will soon be put into practice! We feel much more confident and looking forward to the birth and I think it really helps the partners to feel more involved and that they can really help out and make a difference.
I'd add to the praise for Hollie Stroud. I'm due at the end of this month & have been taking hypnobirthing classes with her for the last few weeks. I've relaxed so much about the idea of childbirth, I'm even looking forward to it now (I really wasn't before!). The relaxation scripts have also really improved my sleep. Hollie has provided a warm, calm and positive environment to learn more about the whole thing.
And another recommendation for Hollie Stroud. We had a two day private course with Hollie last month and the skills we learned were invaluable for the birth of our baby a couple of weeks ago. I am certain that the birth was much easier than it would otherwise have been as we were able to be far more relaxed and worked together as a team. Hollie was hugely supportive and I couldnt recommend her more highly!
I would echo everything that's been said about Hollie at London Hypnobirthing. Hollie has helped us feel calm, relaxed and confident about the imminent arrival of our baby. Her style and approach is professional and incredibly supportive. She has been at the end of the phone/email with answers to any questions I've had outside of the classes. I can't wait to put all my practice into action during labour and birth, and am 100% confident that everything Hollie has taught us is going to make a huge difference.

Hi,

I also recommend Hollie at London Hypnobirthing. Her course was great, really helped us learn how to relax deeply and taught us the skills we hope to use at the birth. I feel so much more confident now about planning the kind of birth we want and know that whatever happens we will know a way to keep calm and relaxed. Hollie is also lovely and very supportive. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Ditto for Hollie Stroud. I am a personal friend of hers and despite not having a hynobirth myself (I wish i had met her prior to my sons birth!) she is a wonderfully calm, personable and deep thinking person. She genuinely cares and talks very fondly of her "couples" that she tutors - annonymously of course :)

Wow, what lovely feedback!

I actually have ONE spot left on my group course that starts this Saturday and runs for four weeks, 10.15am-12.45pm at my home near East Dulwich station. I am offering 15% to anyone who would like go take this final place. The place will go on a first come, first served basis, so please get in quickly if you are interested and drop me a line at [email protected] or visit http://www.londonhypnobirthing.co.uk if you'd like to know more about what the course entails.

Warm wishes,

Hollie

Just a quick update - I found a lovely practioner called Suzy and have just finished a 4 part one-to-one class which I really enjoyed. Haven't actually had the birth yet - so can't report on its success - but just doing the course has been a great experience and I can't recommend Suzy enough. Check out her site

Have to say I'd really strongly recommend doing a course - I listened to the Marie Mongan CD's first time round, but really didn't know how to make best use of them and found them almost useless during labour. I've found that doing a course has made a world of difference to my understanding of what to do on the big day.

Hi All,

Thank you for the lovely recommendation Reren, I'm really glad you enjoyed the course. I just wanted to update the thread to say that there are now only 3 spaces remaining on my group course at the Telegraph Hill Centre, starting on October 21st and I will also be running 1 private class during this period. Should anyone require any further information please feel free to email me on [email protected] or check out my website on www.limitlessyou.co.uk

Happy pregnancies!

Suzy

    • Hi everyone, we are trying to finslise our decision for enrolling our son for 3+ from September and currently considering Dulwich Prep or Herne Hill. We like both and appreciate there is no right or wrong answer but what we like about HH is great focus on early years and also being coed. However if we can avoid the 7+ stress then prefer to do that. Dulwich Prep is closer but the difference is not significant. we know children are very active and busy in DP and they have great facilities, but unlike HH, we don’t know much about their focus on personal development and emotional intelligence, etc! Also not sure about long-term impact of being in boys only school. Difficult decision for us and we appreciate feedback from parents if you can share please.    thank you
    • Yeah that was their old policy. Their new policy is to force you to have a water meter and if you refuse they put you on a punitively high tariff which effectively forces you to have one. I was doing well with my policy of polite resistance which was to say yes fine I'll have one fitted but then not actually book an appointment or cancel the appointments they made. But then I was persuaded that it would be much cheaper anyway.
    • Lots of lovely lilac shrubs in flower at the moment. Would anyone consider giving me a cutting? It would involve digging out a basal off shoot, roots and all. I'd love one for my new garden but I'm so broke that I have to fill it with plants the slow way!
    • You are welcome to have mine for free. I was just about to post! Three panels - 6ft by 5ft - weathered/natural on one side and painted brown on the other.
