I'm looking for advice or a recommendation on a child bike trailer to use with siblings 2 years apart (from 6 months and 2.5 years). Or would you go for a front and back seat combination instead of a trailer? I'll be using it locally on roads for the school run/local shopping etc.

At the moment I have a Specialized Dolce racing bike that I love, but I'm willing to get a different, more sensible bike to accommodate child bike seats if I need to. So if anyone has a bike to recommend too, let me know.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I am selling a KMS kids bike trailer - here are full details - http://www.amazon.co.uk/KMS-Trailer-Stroller-Suspension-Children/dp/B0047OMAJE

I am very pro bike trailers for getting 1+ kids around locally. You can get kids, shopping, scooters etc all in one. Its also very liberating to not have to push a buggy around and get to cycle instead....plus you can get to parks etc much quicker, park right outside shops and can actually get more done. There brilliant in the summer and so much fun for the kids but also excellent in the winter as they are water proof and you can transport them quicker than chugging along with a pram.

I only used my trailer about 3 times because I had the opportunity to get a trike which is what I really wanted and is heaven to ride! The trailer was a great cheaper, safe and cheerful option to get used to transporting kids like this. I really recommend them rather than balancing kids on bike seats...I'm actually not a confident cyclist which is why I opted for the trailer/trike option where are more solid and visible on the road...the cars really do give you more space and are more patient as you are taking up more space on the road and they know you are transporting kids....on a single bike they tend to cut by you push you into the side more. I was very inspired by the Danes who use these all the time.

I'm selling mine for ?50 and bought it for ?80 so its a bargain! Feel free to get in touch if you want to check it out.
