Hello winter mummies and daddies - I hope you won;t think I am being cheeky posting on here. I have a Bloom fresco high chair for sale in the classified section. The reason I am posting here is because I really got the most benefit out of it when my babies were very little i.e. in the early days before they could sit, or even hold their head up properly. it meant that I didn;t have to have a Bumbo/bouncy chair on the floor in the kitchen. Would genuinely love for some other babies to get lots of use out of it. I will post some photos eventually, but you are welcome to come and look at it or try it out!! (see ad below)

Hi, we have a Bloom Fresco high chair for sale for ?50. Looks like this [www.johnlewis.com]

It is 4.5 years old but in really good condition and both my kids have loved it. The only thing missing is the footrest (which you can buy as a spare part for about ?30) but you don;t really need it for a newborn. Our cover is blue, and we bought it new when my little girl was born so it is also in good condition.

The best thing about it is that it is suitable from birth, so you can have you baby next to you in the kitchen while you are doing stuff around the kitchen or eating family meals. The chair swivels all the way around so the baby can face different ways easily. I have really loved it and only selling it because my 2 year old now wants a triptrap like her brother.

Will post photos, but you can come round to see it this weekend. Or bring your baby round and try it out! You will probably need a car if you want to take it with you as the base is quite heavy.

Hi Winter Babies club

I'm just posting here to let you know our next (and very baby-friendly:)) WeightShift Club will be running in St Saviours Church in Forest Hill on Wednesdays daytimes. It's run and devised by myself- a nutritionist & mum of 2- I was in the autumn babies club 2013, and Vicky- a personal trainer who runs Fitness For Mummies, so it's both nutrition and exercise-based. You can bring your little ones, they'll be toys and playmats there.

It's a 6 week course-from wed 4th june til wed 9th July, 11.15-12.15pm. This will be our 7th one. And it's always a small relaxed, friendly group. In each week?s hourly session you will receive tailored dietary advice, we will follow an exercise routine and receive nutritional advice and food plans to take home, plus lots more. Vicky specialises in postnatal fitness, so will accommodate all your needs, but you need to wait until after your 6 week postnatal check (10-12 weeks after a caesarean).

See www.weightshiftclub.com for details and past before & after photos. Or email [email protected] if you have any queries!

Hi ladies

Just in case any of you are not in the Facebook group and/or haven't heard, tomorrow we'll be having a get together in Peckham Rye Park - in the enclosed picnic area to the top right corner of the park - tomorrow from 12.

Bring something to eat, drink and sit on (although there are benches there).

See you tomorrow!

Hi everyone, apologies for gatecrashing, I just wanted to see if anyone fancied coming to this Thursdays' positive birth meet up? It's this coming Thursday 26th, It will be from 10am-12midday and everyone interested in exploring how to think about birth in a more positive way is welcome. It's held at my house in ED, so is walking distance for most, and babies/toddlers/children are very welcome. I will provide tea/coffee/soft drinks/biscuits etc.etc. and you just bring yourselves, your positive attitude and interest in all things birth related (and a packet of biccies if you want to contribute).

The theme this month is "Choice in Birth", which should make for interesting discussion. Did you feel you had/have a choice regarding the birth of your baby? When you're in the midst of labour and things aren't going to plan did you still feel you had choices? Can informed choice ever be a reality - if so, how far? How much knowledge do you need to be 'informed'? How are choices presented to you in the UK maternity system? Were your choices respected? If you're a maternity professional, how far are the choices you can offer women dictated by the needs of the system, rather than the needs/wishes of the women? I think this one may run and run!! :D

Please PM me for the address, otherwise I'll look forward to seeing as many of you as are interested and can make it on Thursday morning.

    • Avoid companies that are run by non trades people Seems to be the trend lately. Check them on Companies house first. There are some great family companies or sole traders. LMQ Roofing 07860 467708 [email protected] ANR Roofing 08009330439 Fist on my list is Liam McQueen https://www.lmqroofingservices.com/ Honest, reliable, constant updates, proper written quotes professional and lovely polite workers. Great work. Also though we did not use them in the end ANR Roofing based in Wimbledon offered some sound advice and quote.  Also very lovely family run firm. And Crest Roofing based in EC1V 2NX came and gave a quote and seemed very lovely with some advice also. 07934 975769
    • Had a terrible experience with this company recently. Their rooofers were abusive and really not nice. Simple job to remove an aerial which we knew would mostly cost in scaffold turned into a nightmare, They dug up old rotten boards in our front garden (there for beetles) and use under the scaffold. When we questioned the positioning of the scaffold (we needed it down the side and not on top of plants and garden) I received a torrent of offensive teenage sexist shouting. The main guy doing this was called Jimmy. They did eventually remove the aerial (no tools to do so I had to supply) They told us the side of the hip needed new timbers and re-roofing. We'd recently had it inspected and it looked good (I'm a carpenter by trade and went and looked at rafters inside - no issue. They seemed to take offense at my carpentry knowledge also. They pulled ridge tile off then told us it would be 3200 to repair!! Stood on a non load bearing lead canopy and more.  Left cooked food and rubbish in garden, Just avoid them is my advice. One of an ever increasing number of firms owned not by trades people who subcontract and pay the scaffolders pennies. I'll do recommendations in another post!
    • I live locally and am on Lordship Lane and North Cross Road most days. I've never been forced into traffic, or noticed any problem in any of these places! I appreciate that might be different with a buggy or mobility aid. I like to see people enjoying themselves outside.
    • It's good that you've never personally had to experience poison being left but it is a known fact in this area. It's not fly tipping - people leave food out for foxes but there are also people who purposefully leave food out to kill animals.
