matnurse1983
Hi family roomDoes anyone know where I can get some non-toxic nail polish? Preferably one with no or little smell to it.I don't do my nails that often but when I do, my OH can't cope with the smell. It really makes him cough and wheeze no matter where I go in the house.ThanksD Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33371-non-toxic-nail-polish-where-to-buy-in-london/ Share on other sites
Norfolkvillas
You have my sympathies. I find painting my nails a very relaxing thing to do but my husband hates the fumes.I tried a brand called Butter London which is meant to have less nasties in it and smell less bad. http://www.butterlondon.com/I prefer the quality of the "toxic" ones though, so I just do my nails when my other half is away. OK who am I kidding, I have two small children and a full time job, so I never have time to do my nails = problem solved :-( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33371-non-toxic-nail-polish-where-to-buy-in-london/#findComment-655176 Share on other sites

matnurse1983
Er..I had a look at the website and can't find a UK stockist. Where do you buy yours NorfolkvillasI want to pick mine up in person as I'm off work on Friday. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33371-non-toxic-nail-polish-where-to-buy-in-london/#findComment-655209 Share on other sites
Norfolkvillas
Hmmm, I used to buy it from Cowshed (http://www.cowshedonline.com/) but that was a while ago. A quick online search tells me that Boots sell some http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Brands-A-to-Z/Butter-London/ otherwise there are a bunch of online shops that sell it. Sorry not to be more help on the current stockists front! matnurse1983
Brilliant, I'll take a look at cowshed tomorrow. I'm going to Westfield on Friday so can also look there. Somehow, I don't think boots in Peckham will stock it :pThanks for putting up with my mini stress :)DD Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33371-non-toxic-nail-polish-where-to-buy-in-london/#findComment-655224 Share on other sites

ianr
From the Ingredients details on the Boots website pages for these two products:Butter London Nail Laquer. 3f nail lacquertea queenEthyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Trimethly Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Triphenyl Phosphate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Diacetone Alcohol, Citric Acid, Dimethicone, Benzophenone-1. Is it the n-butyl alcohol that's the main culprit? Most of the other ingredients they seem to have in common. matnurse1983
Thanks everyone forward all of the suggestionsIanr - you are right, there doesn't seem to be a difference between the two. I am taking a look at Suncoat which has far fewer ingredients:Aqua (water), polyurethane, acrylate, copolymer. May contain mica (CI77019), iron oxides (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499), titanium dioxide (CI77891), ferric ferrocyanide (CI77510), chromium oxide (CI77288), carmine (CI75470).Will have a look at Only fingers and toes right now over a cup of tea :)D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33371-non-toxic-nail-polish-where-to-buy-in-london/#findComment-655345 Share on other sites

cynthia80
Neroli in Honor Oak Park sells a lovely range of polishes from Sparitual which are vegan and have no smell. Makes you wonder what's in the non-vegan ones!
