Jah Lush
That's Walter W Collison who owned The Magdala (pictured) and what is now the Vale. He's also my mate's grandfather. Brendan
It must have been a shock when colour photography was invented and everyone realised it was yellow. Peckhamgatecrasher
I knew an old lady who died a couple of years' ago when she was in her nineties. Her name was Renee Brown (don't know her maiden name). She told me she was born in the Magdala Pub. If I bump into her daughter, I will try and get some more details. Jah Lush
I used to have a photo of the Vale which was also owned by Walter W. Collison from the same era (pictured in 1911), had it framed and gave it to a girlfriend who still has it. Now, I wonder if we can find it the web somewhere....?
