it is just another friggin' pointless shop in Lordship Lane, esp if it really does sell such horrid shoes. There already are two shoe shops the area selling half reasonable shoes, do we really need another, particularly if it sells such vile artefacts - as has been alleged by Bob et al.

Spangles30, how dare you suggest that these overpriced small shops are pointless. If you want to live in ED you have to like it or lump it, remember, there are scary places like Bromley and Lewisham where you can actually buy more for less and have a greater variety so be thankful you are living in such a nice sophisticated area such as this.

I think the tyre place is becoming a greengrocers - possibly as part of Franklins. It's the Chicken Licken that's becoming the bakery.

Well, I for one am pleased there'll be a shoe shop opening.

One can never have too many shoes.:)

If you look at the website properly, they appear to have a good variety of nice shoes, aswell as the dodgy ones.

Why don't we just give these places a chance, instead of beating them down before they've even opened?

you're quite right and I'm sorry, in a really foul mood this morning and took it out on the shoe boutique. had a look through the site before commenting and they're very much not my kind of shoes (not just the bad ones posted on here), but hey, horses for courses and all

I'll keep shopping up west and wish them well with their venture

I'm not sure that is really fair - The White Stuff is not really vile, but safe and rather unimaginative, Petals and Mrs Robinson aren't really vile - just beyond my pocket, and Chichirarawhatever seems to be very popular (isn't that meant to be a quirky bohemian vintage shop?)

I?ve noticed this about M&S too. I tend to buy my work clothes from them. I?m 6ft1 and I have to buy Small sizes to get clothes that fit.

Plus I have a beer belly. :-S

    • I’d also like to reiterate the above. I called Paul after seeing the recommendation here. He came the next day. Found a fix for a problem with the wiring for my fridge/freezer. He was quick to respond, totally constructive and very reasonably priced. Paul will now be my go to electrician and I’d be happy to recommend him. Kate (Paul Edgley 07802 627967)
    • Please get in touch, I have your belongings.
    • We left behind a Brickhouse fabric tote bag (white, black handles) with a sketchbook and pastels/markers/ brushes at Perks & White at Herne Hill station yesterday at about 8.45am. Sadly it has not been handed in to the Cafe or station staff. The drawings and sketches are a collection we have built over a long period so of huge sentimental value. If anyone comes across this would be grateful if they could let me me know. A photo of the sketchbook and bag behind attached (just before I realised I had left it behind) Many thanks!
    • I was under the impression that a local councillor lives in that street. Presumably then, the council are already aware.
