Chern Thai Cafe On Grove Vale - Revised Opening Hours

Recommended Posts

Have been popping in for a lunch every few weeks since it opened, going again this week just gone. Really like the place, decent food at a good price. Service is really quick which is perfect for a lunch if you are working during the day.

Is it still closed on Saturday lunchtimes?

Is it?

We often go out for Saturday lunch, and this would definitely be on our list of options!

Chern seems to be closed for a while now. Has anyone further info about re-opening?

I really hope it hasn't permanently closed 😥

It’s marked on the Google page as “Temporarily Closed”, so hopefully it will re-open before too long. The woman who runs it, Pow, has put so much effort into creating such a great little restaurant and it would be a tragedy if it were to close down. Maybe it’s just something like ill health that’s the problem.

We’ve been there on quite a few occasions and the food is always lovely and such great value. Everyone we’ve taken there has been most impressed. Can’t get enough of the roast  duck!

Hopefully, it’s just a hiccup and we’ll all be able to go there again before too long .

    • And that's good news for the existing cohort of state school children at those schools how exactly? A sudden influx of kids from the private sector will mean class sizes will grow and the most disadvantaged will lose out - remember a private school child moving to state is a double-whammy as they won't be paying the 20% tax and costing the state more for the state school place they will be occupying. Very, very unlikely - far more likely to make them even more elitist as it is the big schools like Eton (which massively skew the perception of private school in the minds of the masses) which will survive. It is the smaller schools that will struggle and many of those are not catering to the types who frequent Eton etc.
    • Hi!  I found a bank card on Ondine Road for somebody named Lynn. The bank is Asda money.  If this is you, please get in touch! Please include your surname in the response for security reasons 🙂 Kind Regards, E
