jumpinjackflash
"I'm in a better place right now" meaning I am a lot happier these days. Used to death mainly by moronic celebs. HonaloochieB
'Fierce'. Unless used in the correct Irish context as an emphasiser, it's a packet of arse biscuits. Guest
'-tsar'. Someone's probably nominated this one already, can't quite be arsed to look, sorry. Recently I've been hearing it regularly at work as a would-be flattering euphemism for 'in charge of'. Silly. AcedOut
- Every sentence being spoken with raised intonation, even non-questioning ones. [student's are always guilty of this]- "Let's take it off-line" == I don't know much about that topic. Can we talk about it away from the meeting, so I don't look silly.- "Let's touch base"- "Pissed", in the context of being annoyed. American roots.I work for an American firm, so have many more... PeckhamRose
"Arcksk" for "ask"and the reply "is it" when I might say, like, "I want to tell you something"andwhen you complain to a company, or hear a complaint raised in the media about a company, the first thing the company says in response is something along the lines of,"We are brilliant"and"Your call is important to us"and"Thank you for calling BT" when you have just called to COMPLAIN and had no CHOICE. Guest
On the train this morning the (recorded) announcement asked 'customers' to move down the carriage. I appreciate they're probably doing it to improve customer service but I'd rather be a passenger. Also one from work, "Your work is great, but" (cue sinking heart), usually followed by paraphrase to the effect that the person would like me to demonstrate that I admire/respect them/want to be their friend. It's just a bloody job FFS. Get over it.Oh, 'get over it' - there's another one.
